***ARC REVIEW** Striking ~ Lila Felix & Rachel Higginson

Striking

Lila Felix & Rachel Higginson

Synopsis~
Cami Montgomery stole a car and smashed it into the front of a building in upscale Beverly Hills after a lousy date with the epitome of sleaze balls. The worst part, her parents are following through on threats after this latest plea for attention. Banished from her L.A. paradise and plunged into the Appalachian Mountains with her industrious aunt and uncle, Cami is about to find out how precious life really is.

Stockton Wright has been thrust into a hard life. He sacrifices everything to give his family and community what they need. He’s exhausted from life and work—and he’s only twenty four. What he needs is some change, and some sunshine. Even he will agree to that. He just doesn’t expect to find it in a stuck up, pompous, entitled Californian.

Cami bursts into Stockton’s life like wildfire, consuming all his thoughts and tangling him in her web. What starts out as a contentious rivalry evolves into a desire neither of them expected. When hammer meets metal, will they crack under pressure or be forged as one?

Cami and Stockton might just end up being exactly what the other one needs, but first their love will have to be drawn out in fire.

Amy's Thoughts~
Lila Felix & Rachel Higginson have come together to create this breathtaking tale of love, deceit, greed, grief, & growing up.

Striking is the Story of a girl, Cami, who grew up with anything & everything she wanted. And none of the one thing she needed in her life. Love. Spoiled & entitled, Cami does what she wants, when she wants. She's wreckless, unashamed, & unapologetic.

In an attempt to get their youngest to grow up, Cami's parents ship her off to a podunk town in Tennessee to spend some time doing some “hard labor”.

Stockton Wright gave up his dreams to step into the role as caretaker of his youngest sibling. He did it without complaint, without looking back at what his life could have been. After all, being a blacksmith had it's advantages. Trade, Sell. It didn't matter to him as long as he had enough work to put food on the table, and a roof over their heads. Stock didn't have much in his life, but he had his family & their memories. That's all he really needed. Until a spoiled little rich girl from California looks in his direction.

Are these 2 people born worlds apart able to come together and build a love forged from the fire?

Lemme tell you, I love Cami & Stockton. Big world, snobby princess meets hard-working, dirty, sweaty smith. Attempting to come together and love beyond the boundaries of their circumstances. Each dealing with a grief that holds tight and defines their existence.

There are so many scenes from this book I wish I could share. In effort of keeping this review “spoiler free” I don't think it would be a good idea. I will say, Stockton represents what a TRUE gentleman should be.

Her mouth was the beginning and the end of me” ~Stockton

One kiss and I was lost” ~Cami

Lila Felix and Rachel Higginson will once again astound their readers with the depth of the characters & emotions we find burned into the pages of Striking
