**CR** THE LEGEND OF ARTURO KING ~ LEGENDARY ROCK STARS BOOK 1 ~ LB DUNBAR

LB Dunbar is starting a new series!!
The Legend of Arturo King
cover - smaller file

My name is Arturo King, and I’m told I’m a legend in music. My band is called the Nights and we got our start at the underground Round Table in New York City. Raised by a foster father, I didn’t know the extent of my inheritance until I was twenty-one, and it was all more than I bargained for. I wanted to play the guitar and rule the world with song, but I learned I have a mother from old money, a dead father who was once a real estate mogul, and a record company that needed some rebuilding. Mure Linn, my friend and mentor, has been by my side through it all, teaching me to play, strengthening my lyrics, and guiding me in the music industry. There was one area he couldn’t guide me, though, and that was love. Guinevere DeGrance changed everything for me, I suppose, including the reason I’m here learning the legend of my life without remembering any of it. The legendary rock star series begins..

And a facebook group for all things The Nights:

SPECIAL INTERVIEW WITH THE BAND!!!
Paisley Belle reporting for Guitar Central. Today's interview is with Arturo King, leader of the rock band, The Nights. As images of Arturo splash social media in preparation for the band's new release, I was able to sit down with the notorious Mr. King. We sit inside the dimly lit Round Table, an exclusive underground bar, known to make or break musical careers. The table seats only two in this cylinder domain with it's mirrored bar opposite the semi-circular stage. Speaking from experience attending concerts here, the few tables will be removed when the night life begins. The brickwork is something you'd find in a Medieval castle, and the empty style is known for its acoustics. Sitting behind Arturo, but nearby, are the other band members: Lansing Lotte, Perkins Vale, and Tristan Lyons.

Let's start with how you got your beginning in music...

A: It all happened by chance. It wasn't meant to be me, but my brother, Kaye, who had the spotlight. When I performed on that stage, it was only to prompt Kaye. Get him to sing. I never meant to steal the show. (He takes a deep breath, uncomfortable with this explanation). That day I met Mure Linn, my mentor and oldest friend, literally. (Laughs). He taught me everything I know. He's the father I never had.

And speaking of family. Tell me about yours. You come from a wealthy heritage.

A: Ingrid Tintagel is my mother; Locke Uther is my father. You can find that information on public record. I never met my father, and regardless of inheriting his real estate empire, it's music I intend to make. Camelot Records is a small company owned by Pendragon Empire, Inc. and that's where my focus will be. Growing Camelot.

So you have an upcoming concert? Tell us about it.

A: 2015 is going to be a legendary year for the band. We've developed a new album and it will feature songs written by our own guys. Lansing, Perk and Tristan each showcase their awesome talent and write their own story through song. It's epic.
Why?

A: Because I'm the leader, per se, and it's always my story people want. I'm the songwriter, the storyteller on guitar and lead vocals, but now they each get their turn. It's cool to share, Paisley. (He winks at me and I fight the blush that creeps up my cheeks).
Yes, well speaking of sharing, tell me a bit about those nicknames you earned?

Arturo smiles slowly at me and I can't report what his dark, dangerous eyes do to women. It's best reserved for a more promiscuous magazine. He laughs softly and replies.

A: I've been told I'm the Chivalrous Lover. I like to satisfy. (He winks again and I dare to recall). I don't have drama in my life after women because I take care in how I treat them. It's a code of honor for me. As for the other guys (he looks over his shoulder and smirks), you'd have to ask them how they "earned" their names.

This reporter knows that Lansing Lotte is labelled Lady Killer, Perkins Vale is considered the Hands-free Lover, and Tristan Lyons is just a Heartbreaker. His harem of women are reputed to be nicknamed 'flavors' but he never tastes twice. His green eyes and model good looks have paralyzed me for a moment from across the bar and I have to shake my head to clear the pleasurable sting.

It's been reported in the tabloids that there is only one woman for you now.

(Arturo's lips slowly curl to smile again, although this time a bit sheepishly. I might dare saw he's blushing and his brown eyes sparkle).

A: Yes.

P: Care to expand?

A: Caring is sharing? (I'd think he's flirting with me, but I know better. I've seen the photos of him with her).

A: Guinevere DeGrance has changed everything for me. She's my future. My Once. She's been my muse for our new album.
Ms. DeGrance is a musician in her own right as a cellist, and the daughter of Leo DeGrance, owner of Round Table.

Can you tell me which bands inspired you?

A: Snow Patrol first and foremost, but also One Republic, Cage the Elephant, Arctic Monkeys, Foo Fighters, Milky Chance, and GooGoo Dolls to name a few. They're all noble warriors in the world spreading music just like us. These bands have helped drive our success.

Is there anyone else you'd like to credit for your success?

A: Well, Mure Linn, of course, and Leo and Kaye. We have a behind the scenes manager, L.B. Dunbar, and she's our promoter, storyteller, supporter of all things Nights.

How can fans follow you or learn more about you?

A: I'd suggest Goodreads (https://www.goodreads.com/book/show/23675986-the-legend-of-arturo-king) and join our new group page on Facebook (https://www.facebook.com/groups/737318906359166/ ) for all things related to The Nights. We love are fans. We know we wouldn't be anywhere without them.

Any final words for those fans?

A: Just thanks for your support. We love you all and we look forward to sharing on January 27.
At this point, a beautiful young woman saunters up to our table and touches Arturo's shoulder. He leans over to kiss her hand before grabbing it and holding onto her as we say our goodbyes. The Nights are cordial, flirtatious, and respectful. I dare say Ms. DeGrance is one lucky lady, but so would be any damsel who snags the attention of the other fine men who are collectively rocking history in their love of music.

Paisley Belle, reporter for Guitar Central, 2014.
OLYMPUS DIGITAL CAMERA
I’d like to say I was always a writer. I’d also like to say that I wrote every day of my life since a child. That I took the teaching advice I give my former students because writing every day improves your writing. I’d like to say I have my ten-thousand hours that makes me a proficient writer. But I can’t say any of those things. I did dream of writing the “Great American Novel” until one day a friend said: Why does it have to be great? Why can’t it just be good and tell a story? As a teenager, I wrote your typical love-angst poetry that did occasionally win me an award and honor me with addressing my senior high school class at our Baccalaureate Mass. I didn’t keep a journal because I was too afraid my mom would find it in the mattress where I kept my copy of Judy Blume’s Forever that I wasn’t allowed to read as a twelve year old. I can say that books have been my life. I’m a reader. I loved to read the day I discovered “The Three Bears” as a first grader, and ever since then, the written word has been my friend. Books were an escape for me. An adventure to the unknown. A love affair I’d never know. I could be lost for hours in a book. So why writing now? I had a story to tell. It haunted me from the moment I decided if I just wrote it down it would go away. But it didn’t. Three years after writing the first draft, a sign (yes, I believe in them) told me to fix up that draft and work the process to have it published. That’s what I did. But one story let to another, and another, and another. Then a new idea came into my head and a new storyline was created. I was accused (that’s the correct word) of having an overactive imagination as a child, as if that was a bad thing. I’ve also been accused of having the personality of a Jack Russell terrier, full of energy, unable to relax, and always one step ahead. What can I say other than I have stories to tell and I think you’ll like them. If you don’t, that’s okay. We all have our book boyfriends. We all have our favorites. Whatever you do, though, take time for yourself and read a book. L.B. Dunbar

**BT, REVIEW** RIPPED ~ REAL SERIES ~ KATY EVANS ~

The fifth story in the new adult series that began with the New York Times bestseller REAL.
New Adult Contemporary
Publisher: Simon & Schuster
Release: December 9, 2014
Every woman wants me--except the one I sing for.

Seattle shakes with anticipation: they call it the concert of the year. They say girls are getting pregnant just thinking about my band being in town.

But when you love a girl, you don't leave her with nothing but a ring and a promise. Any man with half a brain should know.

So what did I expect my girl would do when she saw me again?

Well, for starters, she loathes our music. Particularly the song I wrote about her.

When I sing it, the stadium is in an uproar. Thousands of fans scream my name like I'm a god--but yeah, not her. Crystal clear: the girl's not happy to see me.

Black hair, black boots, a bad attitude, that's her -- Pandora Stone is a freaking man-eater and she's out for my blood.

That's alright.

Let her come at me. Because I'm out for her heart and, this time, there's no way she can stop me.

Katy Evans is back with a vengeance in Ripped.

In Ripped we meet rocker MacKenna Jones, the bad boy from the wrong side of town who will never be good enough for the likes of Pandora.

Pandora is one of those good girls. The ones you see from afar and can only dream of gracing her presence. Shunned by her family, Kenna knows he has to make some hard decisions. Decisions that will haunt him. When life pulls Kenna & Pandora back together, fights are fought, cameras are rolling, things go flying, and secrets are exposed.

As per usual, Katy Evans has no trouble delving into her characters and bringing then to life before us. Every character that she creates has a unique depth to them. We feel their pain, we feel their joy, and by the end of the book we feel sorrow that their story is finished.

Bravo Katy. Excellent addition to an already fantastic series.
Katy Evans grew up with books and book-boyfriends until she found a real sexy boyfriend to love. They married and are now hard at work on their own happily ever after. Katy loves her family and friends, and she also loves reading, walking, baking, and being consumed by her characters until she reaches “The End.” Which is, hopefully, only the beginning…

**EXCERPT REVEAL** RIPPED ~REAL SERIES ~ KATY EVANS ~

Sneak Peek Excerpt

The big dose of reality hits me when I wake up and he is sprawled, in all his muscular glory, across my hotel bed. It takes a second for me to remember that I, uh . . . I let Mackenna stay over?

I groan and slap my palm against my forehead. Fuck. Why why why does he weaken my willpower? The mattress squeaks as he shifts in bed, one arm reaching out as he groans in his sleep and seems to search for me. I roll away quickly and watch his hand settle on a pillow.

“Mackenna,” I say, toeing his side with my foot. “Mackenna!” I hiss.

He rolls around and sits up, and thank god the covers are halfway around his waist, because if I see one more inch of bare flesh I might explode from the heat spreading through me. I feel myself blush even deeper when his muscles bulge as he pushes himself up with his arms. His eyes adorably heavy, he blinks to adjust to the light, his mouth as perfect and generous as it was yesterday. And then he looks at me. That gaze is softer silver in the morning, not as sharp or as intimidating, almost . . . intimate when he sees me. Glimmering playfully.

And too late, I realize why he’s fucking grinning. My T-shirt got caught on the waistband of my panties. And he’s taking me in, in one quick sweep. “Well, fuck, someone woke hungry this morning,” he says, his voice bedroom sleepy as he looks at me, and I grab the pillow to cover myself.

“I’m not hungry,” I say.

“I was talking about me. Come over here.”

“No, Mackenna! Come on. Get out of my room already. I told you to leave!”

He grins and gets up, and I toss the pillow and flush as I pull down my T-shirt while he heads to the bathroom. It only takes him a minute to come out. Not enough to comb all my fingers through the tangles in my hair. If I were into that and cared what the asshole thought. Which I don’t.

His eyes run up the length of my legs, continue from the hem of my T-shirt to my neck, then land on my head. “Leave your hair, it looks all right,” he says huskily, stopping to loom before me.

Heat flows through my body as he looks down at me with blatant need. What is wrong with him? With us?

“Nothing’s wrong,” he murmurs.

“I said that out loud?” I groan.

“You’ve been . . . vocal, all night. I like it.”

God. I dreamed. I dreamed . . . I’m not even sure what. I dreamed about the closet again. I dreamed we were in bed. I dreamed he tried to kiss me, and when I turned away, he set a thousand shivery kisses up and down my neck.

The memory makes me flush cherry red. Did that happen during the night? By the intimate way he looks at me, I think he wanted inside me real bad. I didn’t let him, thank god. He fingers the collar of my tee, then watches me as he slowly drags his finger up my neck, his thumb caressing my bottom and top lip. Even though his hold is loose and he’s not physically holding me down, I feel trapped. His gaze alone holds me motionless.

He used to look at me with this same proprietary gleam when he was my boyfriend. My secret boyfriend, who nobody knew about . . . except me. I guess, in the end, my mom knew.

But while the secret lasted, we hid in the janitor’s closet in school and made out until I could hardly walk, my legs unsteady as I headed for class with his taste in my mouth, the scent of his soap clinging to my clothes.

I’m fighting the urge to smell his neck now. It’s a war to just stand here motionless, tracing every inch of his masculine face with my eyes when I want my fingers to do the same. The years become nothing.

The hum between us is just like in the old days, when I was the center of his galaxy. When the girls in school would stare longingly at him when he walked past my locker, having eyes only for me. Sometimes, when the halls were vacant enough, he quickly leaned over me and kissed the back of my ear and every part of my body, from my toes up to the back of my ear. I’d grow hot, and the place between my legs would start pulsing.

Too easily I remember coming home and squealing.

Me—squealing.

I would play love songs, only to replay the words he said to me and the ways he touched me. I would shower, eat, and sleep Mackenna Jones. . . .

But deep down, my mother’s bitterness and my father’s infidelity poisoned me. I kept all these feelings to myself—kept them from my mother so she wouldn’t take Mackenna from me. But because I didn’t want to lose him, because I feared it wasn’t real, I also kept my feelings from him, and now I’m used to saying nothing. Keeping it bottled up.

Why do I feel like I’m about to burst now?

“Don’t, Kenna,” I say when he uses his thumb to open my lips. He stands dangerously close—his height, his breadth, his size, his do-me-now-woman sex appeal intimidating the hell out of me.

He grins wickedly and strokes a hand over my hip.

“Why not?”

“Because it’s not going to happen,” I say breathlessly.

“Yeah, it will.” His smirk says, It definitely will.

He pats my butt slowly, and the familiar way he brushes his lips over mine brings my temper to a boil. Who does he think he is? Does he think because we made out by mistake he gets to play my boyfriend? When I growl and slap his hand away, he chuckles and heads back to the bathroom.

Soon I hear the shower, the sound of the water slapping his delicious man-flesh. Then I hear him hum a tune, a tune I’ve never heard before. My chest moves when I remember he used to do that when we were teens. God, no, stop thinking of those moments. It hurts. Truly it does. Think of the bad ones. When he left. When he left me on my own after making me need him and believe I couldn’t live without him.

Refusing to get all sappy with memories, I grab my phone and think of Melanie.

She’s probably at the office, missing the delightfully bitter morning company that is me.

I quickly text, I kissed him

Every second I wait for her answer, I feel worse and worse, not only about the closet incident but also about falling asleep with him around. When I woke up, the bastard was almost spooning me.

Melanie: What?

Me: I kissed the bastard! He spent the night. Oh god!!!!! This is suicide!

Melanie: Why? Was he into it? You know what they say about where there was once fire . . .

Me: He was into the kissing, into using me for his selfish reasons and I was selfish too.

Melanie: So what’s the problem?

Me: The problem is he’s going to think he WON!

And he will. He really, really will, because he’s so full of himself I’m surprised he fits inside this building.

GUEST POST

WRITING RIPPED

By Katy Evans

RIPPED – I’m so excited to be sharing with everyone RIPPED, Real series book #5! :)

RIPPED began with Pandora, Brooke (Real, Mine and Remy) and Melanie’s (Rogue) goth friend. She’s such a wounded warrior and so bitter that I was completely hooked wanting to know—what happened? What made her like this? Why does she hate men so much?

And that’s how I met her man, Mackenna Jones.

He’s back in Seattle for the concert of the year, and Pandora hates him so much, she is still so stuck in the past for having loved (and lost) him when she was young, she’s determined to go pay him a visit and give him a little something to remember her by. Nothing nice, I assure you.

And that’s where RIPPED totally exploded for me. It’s one of those books where I couldn’t stop writing even for a second. It seemed like I just opened Pandora’s box of secrets and they came spilling out, one after the other. Memories, what truly happened in her eyes, in his eyes, their first kiss (sigh) and so much more. Their past is tumultuous and passionate and their present, when they reunite again, is just as passionate and rocky. They have a long way to go to their HEA but, though Pandora doesn’t feel she deserves it and has never let herself want it, Mackenna has another plan to conquer back his girl.

What I love about this couple in particular is how equal they seem—the push and the pull always kept me guessing as to who had control of the situation, sometimes Pandora had Mackenna by the pants, and plenty of others it was Mackenna who kept getting the upper hand, knowing each and every one of Pandora’s weaknesses (including that he is the main one.)

He is the boy she could never forget.

She is the girl no other girl has ever compared.

Things are about to get RIPPED during Mackenna’s concert tour when his manager thinks it brilliant to force Pandora to tag along. :)

**CR** Alluring Surrender ~ Bayou Stix 5 ~ Skye Turner

Cruz Edwards is the talented drummer of Bayou Stix, the most famous rock band in the country. Behind his drum set, he’s a god. Playing is his escape from his tormented past. He’s a deeply tortured man and the scars of his conception and parentage run deep, so deep his friends worry that eventually he’ll sink into the abyss of his own making.

Tifanie Jeffries- Bellaforte is a fiercely strong woman. Her upbringing is the polar opposite of Cruz’s. She’s never wanted for anything and comes from one of the most influential families in Louisiana history. Her privileged upbringing smothered her and she’s worked harder than anyone to prove that she is capable of anything she sets her mind to. She is living proof that character and hard work are more important than a family name and wealth. She’s shunned her life of luxury and supports herself as a brilliant paramedic.

Other than being behind his drums, Cruz is used to hiding from the world and only allows his beloved momma and trusted group of friends a front row seat to his true self. Tifanie is used to getting what she wants, not because she feels entitled, but because she’s willing to work for it.

What happens when a strong woman who refuses to give up meets a man who’s only known despair?

What happens when the walls you’ve built around yourself are pulled down one by one?

What happens when the biggest challenge of your life is overcoming yourself?

Sometimes the things that prove you’re strong come from allowing yourself to surrender.

Skye Turner is an avid reader and an editor turned writer.

She attended Southeastern Louisiana University and Louisiana State University where she majored in Mass Communications, centering her studies in Journalism. Unfortunately life intervened and she made the choice to leave her studies.

She lives in small town Louisiana with her husband, 2 children, and 4 fur babies.

When she's not chained to her laptop pounding out sexy stories she can usually be found playing Supermom, reading, gardening (playing in the dirt), listening to music and dancing like a fool, or catching up on her family oriented blog.

**Bt** Wild Renegade ~ Renegade 2 ~ Andria Large

Ace Vaughn
The bad boy, the wild one - that’s what they call me. I guess it suits me. I work hard, but I party harder. I mean, I’m single, so why not? I like clubbing, drinking, and banging random women. Unfortunately, I sometimes hook up with the wrong chicks. Like the ones who gets attached after a romp in the sack, but sometimes that just comes with the territory. I never really thought that one would actually cause so many problems. How do I keep the one I love safe when a former one night stand falls off the crazy train and lands in Psychoville?
Nicole Gionelli
I finally get the job of my dreams as a backup dancer for Renegade for their world tour. It means that I’m going to be away from my friends and family for about a year, but they understand how important this is to me. I meet Renegade on the first day at the dance studio. I knew these guys were attractive, but seeing them in person is a whole different story. Hello! I know I need to remain professional, but damn, it is hard when two of the guys start vying for my attention. Who do I choose? Do I really want to get pushed into the spotlight by dating a member of Renegade? I’m not so sure. But if I do, what's my chances of taming the Wild Renegade?

Warning: For mature audiences only. Contains seriously hot sex scenes that will leave you wanting to fulfill your very own boy band fantasy. Please keep in mind that this is a work of fiction and I made it up from my own imagination.

Andria Large has sucked us back into the sexy, WILD world of Renegade. This time front and center on the bad boy of the bunch. Ace. Vaughn.

Living the hard life of being a rock star, Ace works hard and parties harder. On the verge of losing everything he's worked so hard for, it's time to clean up his act and straighten his shit out. Who knew that he'd have a little motivation on the way.

First day of rehearsal for her new job as a back up dancer for Renegade, Nicole had no idea that the actual guys were going to be there. She had no idea she would react to Ace the way she has. Anxious to keep her eye on the prize of her awesome job, and the nutty ex that has dug her claws deep in to Ace, Nicole keeps her head about it. She didn't know it was going to be so hard to resist his charms. But he's the playboy.... so why should she give in?

Based with a whole new set of rules, a whole new set of envious enemies. Ace and Nicole have to decide whether it's enough. Whether it's worth all the trouble surrounding them.

Andria Large has always been one of my favorite authors. Ever since I stumbled upon her work. I love her writing style and intriguing, deeply emotional characters. She has a flawless story telling ability. I'm anxious to see what else Renegade brings me.

Andria is married and a stay at home mother with two crazy little girls and two psychotic cats. She doesn't go anywhere without her precious iPhone and a purse full of animal crackers. She used to be completely obsessed with the Backstreet Boys, but now is only mildly obsessed (still goes to every concert when they are in town). She loves cartoons and Disney movies, and can probably recite every line from Dumb and Dumber. Humor is a must in her life; otherwise, it would be completely boring. Pepsi is her weakness, along with anything chocolate. She can’t sing to save her life, but she pretends she can when she is alone in her car with the music blasting so that she can’t hear herself.

She loves to read Romance. Paranormal, Scottish, Military, Police, Firefighters, Athletes, Cowboys and M/M are her favorite. She is not so much a fan of YA, though. If you haven’t been able to tell from reading her books, she likes - whether she is reading them or writing them - lots of hot steamy sex.

Andria loves her fans and is always willing to chat. She works hard on her books, does not get offended easily, and has a pretty thick skin when it comes to negativity toward her work. She welcomes constructive criticism because she feels that is how one betters themselves, by taking that constructive criticism and using it.
