Caleb is a man with a singular interest in revenge. Kidnapped as a young boy and sold into slavery by a power-hungry mobster, he has thought of nothing but vengeance. For twelve years he has immersed himself in the world of pleasure slaves searching for the one man he holds ultimately responsible. Olivia is young, beautiful, naïve and willful to a fault. She has a dark sensuality that cannot be hidden or denied, though she tries to accomplish both. Although she is frightened by the strong, sadistic, and arrogant man who holds her prisoner, what keeps Olivia awake in the dark is her unwelcome attraction to him. Abby stood nervously before her Master in the classic submissive pose: fully nude, legs apart, wrists placed behind her back; deeply ashamed of her evident arousal. Worse, she had to recount in exact detail the proceedings of her last whipping. The whipping had been severe; as was the case with most of the clients she was commissioned to serve. These client appointments were scheduled a few weeks apart, in order that the welts, bruises and whatever other marks were left behind had ample time to heal. After all, each new client - whether male, female, a couple, or even a group - surely deserved a fresh canvas upon which to begin. Despite these harsh sessions, her body reacted like that of a wanton whore as she retold of the sadistic punishments and extreme sexual use inflicted upon her body.

How far would her Master push her with these ‘tests’? How far would Abigail go? How many times could she stand before him blushing; yet with that unmistakable tingle? Their relationship was surely headed for a collision course. Or was it? This story contains STRONG BDSM. While fully consensual, it includes submission, dominance, sadism and masochism. Please do NOT buy or read this if you are offended by graphic sexual descriptions including sexual violence. All characters are aged 25+, and it is recommended for an adult audience ONLY (aged 21+). This story is pure fiction and the author does not condone any violent behavior.

Warning: This is neither a conventional romance nor a traditional love story. There are no hearts and flowers on the pages of this book. The heroine doesn’t always make wise choices and though I’ve tried to make her strong, she’s often times weak in the face of the fierce hero. The hero is not a knight in a shining armor. He’s broken and frequently cruel, and what every woman in the real world should avoid. What’s contained in this book isn’t real - it’s fiction; dark, depraved and decadent make-believe. Contains detailed sexual encounters, profanity, uncomfortable situation, and erotic elements including voyeurism, oral and anal. INTENDED FOR READERS 18+.

Obsession, possession, resilience, insanity— Seeking solitude and reprieve from her past failed relationships, Elsa begins her life anew in Richmond, hoping to find the change that she so desperately needs. Things are looking up for her, a new job, new friends— a fresh start. But Victor has different plans for her. From the moment he heard her voice and set his eyes on Elsa, she became next on his to-do list; his Chapter 8. A well-known and respected criminal profiler, his mind is as dark as the people he hunts down. It takes one to know one, after all. Under the guise of making his subjects stronger, he intends to break Elsa down using everything in his arsenal, including pleasure, pain, humiliation, and things unspeakable. Everyone is fair game in his book and he discriminates against no one when he chooses his test subjects. Lonely, still on the mend from a bad break-up and longing for sexual attention, Elsa consents to an odd proposition, unaware of Victor’s plans. However, she can’t be broken so easily and what he puts her through only fuels the fire burning within her, a flame that begins to blaze out of control as she becomes obsessed with everything about Victor and peeling back his cruel layers in search of the real man hiding beneath his heartless facade. In Victor’s world, there is no such thing as happily ever after and Chapter 8 proves to be an infuriating challenger when she flips the tables on his selfish and twisted game, a game they both may end up losing their hearts and minds over.

Adriane Leigh AUTHOR INTERVIEW - QUESTIONS

 1. In 5 words, please describe your ‘Romance Writing Style’
Lyrical, Edgy, Sexy, Emotional, One-Click-Worthy! <---Does that last one count?! lol

2. Do your leading men come from any place in particular? Dreams? Movie stars? Your partner? Past partners?
My men always come from my dreams! Sometimes they're inspired by a real life someone, but my leading men are always way more swoonworthy. Men tend to suck in real life!

3. What do you do in your down time?
I have a two and a four year-old, I don't really get down time! I wish I had more time to read and knit.

4. When you walk into a book store, where do you head first?
The new release displays! I like to touch the pretty covers and leaf through the heavy pages. I'm a first-class book nerd.

5. Why did you decide to write romance novels?I've been reading those steamy, bodice-rippers from the grocery store since I was a kid, I used to hide them under my mattress so my mom wouldn't find out I was reading the smutty stuff! It was a natural progression I think.

6. Who, if anyone, has influenced your writing?I appreciate Hemingway's sparse prose and always keep that in mind when I'm writing. It's not for everyone, but I love concise sentences that convey heavy emotion.

7.
What research did you have to perform to back up your story?Any research which really opened your eyes or gave you new respect for a topic or profession?
Very little research was needed as most of the scenes are inspired by things I've done or places I've been. I did have fun re-reading some of the classic books mentioned in Beautiful Burn. I love discovering parallels in contemporary books with classic stories. It means that love is crazy, wild, unpredictable, beautiful, comforting, and above all, timeless.

8. What is your method for writing a book? A certain amount of hours every day? A certain routine? Are you character/story builder or an outliner or some other method?
My method is madness! If you have a type-A personality, look away!

My books are pretty story-driven. I don't have a solid outline until half-way through the book, I just write by the seat of my pants and get inspired by the characters and the situations they've found themselves in up to that point.

I try to write 5-6 days a week (emphasis on try) for an hour or so at a time. I tend to work best in the early afternoon, and I have to have a clear desk to write at; clutter isn't good for the creative process.

9. How do you get past writers block or distractions like Facebook?Ah, Facebook. There's no beating that beast. I try to stay logged out as much as possible to avoid distraction when I'm in the zone.

10. Favorite book from childhood?
I could never choose! I remember reading the Boxcar Children a lot though.

11. What’s on your desk? Can you see your desk? Describe what you see when you look around.
I've got an antique farm table from the 1940s for a desk that I keep pretty sparse– a candle, bottled water, my phone, and laptop.

12. What's the weirdest thing you've Googled?
Most recently...the anatomy of the throat, for reasons I just can't even mention!

13. What is your favorite line from any of your books? This one from Beautiful Burn ---> Love is a beautiful burn in a quiet corner of the heart that won't be ignored.

14. Do you believe in love at first sight?
No, but I believe in chemistry at first sight ;)

15. What do you do when you are not writing?
Hang out on Facebook!

16. What has been the toughest criticism given to you as an author? What has been the best compliment?
It always hurts a little when a reader says they didn't connect or like your lead female character, I think it's true for most authors that there's a little piece of them hidden in their characters. The best compliment is anytime someone say's they've read one of my books for the second, third, fourth time. That's an indescribable feeling!

17. Is there any particular author or book that influenced you in any way either growing up or as an adult?
Fortune's Rocks by Anita Shreve has always stayed with me. It was the first book I'd read with that sense of desperate love; the push and the pull between right and wrong. I love it!

18. Is there a certain type of scene that's harder for you to write than others? Love? Action? Racy?
The action scenes are always the toughest, I love writing the racy ones!

19. How important are names to you in your books? Do you choose the names based on liking the way it sounds or the meaning?I think names are an important component to character. I strive for both. I always look up the origin of the name, and usually there's some significance either geographically, historically, or even structurally, as is the case with Auburn.

20. What was the hardest part of writing your book?
Writing it! Brainstorming and researching is the fun stuff, actually planting my ass in the chair and creating a story is something else entirely!

21. What did you want to be when you grow up?
I've wanted to write books since I was in middle school. The last few years have been a dream come true!

22. Did you learn anything from writing your book and what was it?
Love is stubborn. Sometimes we have to endure pain to grow. The pain is worth it.

23. Which actor/actress would you like to see playing the lead character from your most recent book?
Tough one! I didn't have anyone specific in mind when writing, but Auburn is sort of like Nina Dobrev or Lucy Hale...a combination of the two! Reed is a bit like Bradley Cooper in Silver Linings Playbook.

24. Do you work to an outline or plot or do you prefer just see where an idea takes you?
I love to see where the story takes me!

25. For your own reading, do you prefer ebooks or traditional paper/hard back books?
Ebooks or audio. My iPad might as well be permanently attached to my hand.

26. What book/s are you reading at present?
I just started Love, In English by Karina Halle and I'm loving it!

27. If you could have been the original author of any book, what would it have been and why?
One year later and I still have a book hangover from Arsen by Mia Asher. That book made me feel—hate, love, anxiety, passion—it's everything I can't get enough of.

28. What advice would you give to your younger self?
You are worthy.

29. How do you think you’ve evolved creatively?
I've been inspired by so many fantastic books the past few years not just for their story, but how the writer's write the story, and I'm always challenging myself with language. I geek out when I find a new, different way to describe something! #wordnerd
