Excerpt~

Breakfast flew by. Caston stood up to leave and I felt sad, as if a piece of me was leaving. Standing in front of him, I straightened his suit coat; feeling very brazen I took his lapels in my hands, pulling him close to me. He put his hands on my hips, under my shirt. His thumbs edge their way to touch my skin. It jumped at his touch.
“Be good today. I will leave an iPad for you to use.” He leaned forward and kissed my forehead. I sighed, and looked up at him timidly through my eyelashes.

“Yes, Caston,” I responded angelically. My mind was begging him to kiss me. Please, God, kiss me.

“I could get used to this,” Caston replied, staring into my hazel eyes, while brushing my sides with his thumbs.

He was barely a hair’s breadth away from my mouth now. He enveloped my mouth, and his tongue parted my lips, hungrily seeking mine. I allowed him entrance, and my knees buckled. He caught me, pressing me to his body. One hand stayed on my back, while the other skimmed up my back and tangled in my hair. Intertwining his hand in my hair, he pulled my head back, starting to kiss the sides of my mouth down to my neck. My mind went absolutely blank, and I felt my insides clenching. Just as suddenly as he started kissing me, he pulled away. Breathless, I leaned up against the table. Holy shit! Did that just happen?

About the Author~

I am a mommy of two, wife to an amazing man, and full time employee. Life is crazy and my love for reading had fizzled over the years but thanks to a wonderful group of ladies that I met last year I started reading again. Their love for books turned me on to many great writers who I would have never discovered if I hadn't started reading again!

I started writing for them. They brought out my love for writing that I haven’t seen in years. Starting this process was tedious and nerve wrecking, but my lovely ladies and my fabulous husband have inspired me to take my love for writing to the next step.

**BT & Giveaway** Searching for Tomorrow ~ Kathryn McNeill Crane

Buy Links

Some people are blessed to find that one certain person who completes them.

Wrynn’s yesterdays were what others only dream of having. She and Tripp were the best of friends before they even thought about love. They had the fairy tale life where ‘like’ turns into ‘love’, and ‘love’ becomes ‘happily ever after’.

What happens when life conspires against you, and snatches your soul mate from your arms?

…only her forever love ended much too soon.

Broken beyond her own ability to repair, Wrynn boxes up her grief and attempts to raise her three girls the best she can on her own. As time slowly passes, Wrynn relives her life with Tripp while struggling most days to get out of bed. She is reminded of him at every turn.

How do you set your grief and anguish aside? How do you pick up the shattered pieces, put those pieces back together again, and try to move on?

Wrynn tries to find the joy in life every single day through her daughters, family, and friends. Her twin brother Liam has dedicated himself to helping Wrynn put her life back together after losing his own love. On the other hand, her mother-in-law lives to torment her at every turn. Wrynn can't even find a chance to breathe, much less a desire to somehow search for her tomorrow.

If you are reading this, I think you should know that "About me" sounds so very pretentious to me. I guess that is what I am supposed to write about, so here it goes!

Kathryn is a simple country girl who likes to spend time with her hubba, hunka hubby, her three kids and her friends. She loves to cook and really loves to eat! During the spring and summer, you will more than likely find her outside puttering around in her garden. When the veggies start coming in, she will probably be sweating over a hot canner in the kitchen, canning all the goodies she is blessed with. Kathryn likes to hike and go camping, and as a Girl Scout leader, she gets to do this pretty often! On cold winter nights, you will probably find her wrapped in a warm blanket, lost in a good book, while sitting in her rocking chair on the front porch!

Kathryn was born and raised in North Carolina, and while she loves to travel, she can't imagine ever leaving the mountains that she has come to call home. Not a day goes by that Kathryn doesn't thank God for abundantly blessing her. He has been so good to her, and she is very grateful. She holds Jeremiah 29:11 very close to her heart and believes it with every fiber of her being. "For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future."

Kathryn loves flip flops, chocolate, sweet tea and dirt between her toes. As far back as she can remember, she's had a book in her hand. Reading has carried her to places she will never go. It has introduced her to people that she will never meet. When life is great and when it is rough, she's always been able to find a book to carry her through. She finally decided to write down some of the stories in her head (yes, be scared) and heart after dawdling around and wasting years dreaming. She hopes you enjoy reading those stories as much as she loves writing them!

Off Chance

Sawyer Bennett

Synopsis~

He is seeking absolution.

Flynn Caldwell has a hero complex and it’s one of the reasons he joined the New York City Fire Department. He has spent his entire professional career trying to atone for that one person he failed to save. Because, if he can do that, then perhaps he can be worthy of love again.



She is seeking escape.

Rowan Page’s life is nothing short of a disaster. Always immersed in trouble, she has only herself to depend on. She’s determined to pull herself out of this mess and make something of her life, despite the hard years she has lived on the streets of New York.



Together, they have the chance to become complete.

Flynn and Rowan’s worlds exist miles apart, but when a chance meeting brings them together, neither of them can deny the instant pull that connects them to each other. What starts as a tiny spark eventually flares into a fire so hot, it refuses to be extinguished.



Both are willing to jump feet first into the flames to see where it takes them, despite the risk of being burned.

Amy's Thoughts~

Being a long time fan of the Off Series, and a long time fan of Sawyer Bennett, I've been waiting for Flynn's book. I have loved the little snippets of him I've gotten from the first mention of him.  Off Chance was a bit different from other Off books. While there was the sweet, sexy Caldwell family as usual, this book had a bit of a danger quality to it that the other books didn't have.  I've tried to get into the habit of reviewing a book without giving away any spoilers. It's very difficult in a book like this one.

The prologue to the book is so important here. It gives us such insider info into the life of Flynn Caldwell and why he is the protector that he is. He wants to save everyone, will do whatever he can to do so. Including taking a complete stranger into his home until she gets on her feet.

Rowan has been on her own for a long time, sometimes, on the streets to make it. This time, not only is she out her home, but it seems in her attempt to make it, she made it with the wrong guy.  Now, she's determined to remain friends with Flynn, & get back on her feet, & most importantly... stay alive.

The end of the book really made it for me. I don't think she could have pulled it all together any better than she did. I have loved the Caldwell family, I feel like they are a part of my own. I will miss them, but it's helpful to know that I can pull them up on my kindle and reminisce anytime I want to.

Don't miss this last amazing insight into the Caldwell family.

**BT * GIVEAWAY** Love Resisted ~ Melanie Codina

Love Resisted

Melanie Codina

Synopsis~

For Allie Baxter, love was never something she had to worry about. She was loved by her friends, her family, her husband … until the day it was ripped away. Losing love was the deepest pain Allie had ever endured, and it was an agony she vowed to avoid feeling ever again. Crippled with guilt over her loss, for five years Allie served her self-appointed exile from the daily comforts offered by friends and family, only to return and attempt to fit herself back into their open arms—even if she knew she didn’t deserve it. Mike Lawson was not something Allie expected; the love of a man was not something Allie was prepared to want. The spark of desire that had long ago died inside her suddenly returned, bringing the memories of her pain with it. She swore she would never allow herself to love again … but how long could love be resisted?

Amy's Thoughts~

Allie lost the love of her life in a horrific car accident. For 5 long years, she's harbored the guilt of killing the man she loved.  Eight years ago, Mike lost his love to breast cancer. Leaving him alone to raise their only son. How does one who has faced grief head on, convince the one who hasn't that life didn't stop that fateful day?

When I read Love Realized, I knew Melanie Codina was an amazing author. I knew... Just knew that Love Resisted was going to be outstanding, and I was right! I read this today in the span of about 5 hours. Again, it astounded me how Melanie could combine two strong emotions. On one hand so deep, and heartfelt, that I was tearing up right along with her characters, to the next moment I was laughing so hard my side was hurting. And holy *swoon* Mike is a swooner!! I will NEVER listen to Treasure by Bruno Mars the same again!!

Melanie's writing style is that of a seasoned author! If you read her work with out knowing anything about her, by the time you finished these two books, you would feel like she was your best friend. She takes her words and conveys them into emotions and feelings that threaten to rip you open and bleed you dry. Then she puts your back together again.

About the Author~

Melanie is an amazing mother of four, an awesome and tolerant wife to one, and nurse to many. If you don’t believe her, just ask anyone in her family, they know what to say. She is also a devoted chauffer, the keeper of missing socks, a genius according to a six year old, the coolest soccer uniform coordinator according to a twelve year old, and the best damn ‘mac-n-cheese-with-cut-up-hot-dog maker in the whole world. Well that last title isn’t really official, but it’s still pretty cool to be called it.

When not being ordered around by any of the kids, you can find her with her nose in a book or on the sideline of a soccer game cheering on one team or another. But that’s mostly because she has a thing for the coach. When she is not doing all of the above, you can find her obsessed with a group of fictional characters all vying for a spot on the page of whatever she’s working on. It’s a fun and crazy life to lead, but wouldn’t have it any other way.

**Release Event & Giveaway** Her ~ Carey Heywood

Synopsis~

You know her side of the story, now learn his. "It was useless. I felt branded beneath my skin by a girl who left without even saying goodbye." When Will Price was assigned a partner for a sixth grade class project he had no idea she would become his best friend. After years of friendship, she eventually became so much more. Then, one day she left with no explanation. Will’s life shattered right before his eyes and he was left alone to pick up the pieces. Floundering, Will must figure out a way to carry on, to find a way to exist without her. Seven years later, a chance encounter leaves him desperate to get her back. He has one week to make her his again. Not everyone gets a second chance with the love of their life and Will is determined to never lose her again.

Amy's Thoughts~

I was one of those slackers who put off reading Him until I was a week and a half away from the Her BT and knew I had to read it before I read Her. Was I an idiot or what?? HOLY MACKEREL!!!!

In Him, we got to see her side of the story. In Her, we get to see Will Price's side. How powerful is a love when it spans years of waiting for someone to come home? That's what I felt from Will. He waited. He knew over the years how she was doing, occasionally hearing a tidbit about her life, never wanting to know where she was, because he knew he wouldn't be able to stop himself from going for her. But he did that once didn't he? And it didn't turn out so well, so he waits. She will come home... eventually.

Carey Heywood will top the NYT and USA Today Best Seller's list again with this book. The work involved to follow another book piece by piece but in a different point of view. She did an amazing job. I felt like I was inside the book, following along with Will as he told his story. I am anxious to see what story Carey pours out next, her gift as an author seems to improve with each novel she releases. Congratulations Carey, amazing amazing job. I fell in love Will and Sarah. <3

Burn

Brooke Cumberland

Eric is dealing with his own insecurities as he tries to accept Velaney’s decision to help the enemy…can he get past it? Will they be there for each other in the end? He struggles to step aside and trust Velaney...but will his past keep him from doing so? Can he let go in order to move forward? Velaney and Eric had their fair share of ups and downs in SPARK…they love was undeniable and intense. Just when you think they could get their happily ever after…pasts collide and merge together…will they fight for what they want? Or will their love crash and burn?

Amy's Thoughts~

I was really worried about how this book was going to play out. I was pleasantly surprised with how Brooke chose to finish it. Velaney has to make some tough decisions in this book that directly affect her relationship with Eric. The problem is, she does it without talking to him about it first. Vel has a tendency to take Independence to an extreme. Her learning that relationships are all about talking and compromising is a painful one. They would have avoided a lot of their problems has she chosen to talk to him instead of taking matters into her own hands.

There was some WOW surprises in this one too, ones I didn't see coming. Vel's mom is a straight up witch with a B. I would have like to have seen how things worked out with Vel's father after everything that happened.

Overall, Brooke did a great job with Velaney and Eric. I like how Eric stepped up to the plate. Yea, he had a few panic attack moments, but he did good job of bouncing back.

If you haven't checked out Spark & Burn, go. Don't miss Velaney & Eric's story!

Amy's Thoughts~

This is the only book I have ever read by Holly S. Roberts, I will say this definitely will not be the last. She has a writing style that completely engages the reader so much so that you don't realize you've read the entire book until you swipe and don't find any more pages.

In Play, we have the sexy, alpha male with Killian. He's the hot football player we all drool over and would give your right arm if he would notice you. Well, he notices Rebecca. After that moment, no one else compares. Killian is alpha to the extreme. And he does it the right way. When Rebecca starts to flip out, he's there to straighten it all out for her, help her see clearly again.

Where Killian is Mr. Confident, Rebecca is insecure. She's always been pretty and she knows that, but she's also always been made aware of how awkward her body is. She's felt out of proportion with her runner body. So to find herself the center of Killian's attention is a bit overwhelming.

Play is a great book. It was a refreshing read to the angst we read daily. So thank you for that. If you looking for a sexy, athlete, alpha and a sweet, funny love story. Check it out. You won't be disappointed. <3

Teaser

I dissolved into the seat of his amazing car. A low moan escaped my lips but Killian just showed his dimples and buckled me in. I wondered what he’d do if I pulled him tightly against me and sniffed… for an hour or two. He opened his door and folded into the seat with absolute grace regardless of his size. “Ah hell,” he muttered and turned my way. Unlatching my seatbelt, he pulled me in for the most mouthwatering kiss I’d ever had. His lips, soft but firm, molded to mine. His tongue ran over my teeth, tasted, dipped deeper, and then plunged. He effortlessly slid out the elastic holding my hair before spreading his fingers to either side of my scalp. The kiss intensified and Killian made promises for the night ahead with his lips. He tasted so damn good. When he pulled back, I actually whimpered and smiled at the low rumbling growl that came from Killian’s throat. He took my lower lip between his teeth and pulled slightly before letting go. He put distance between us leaving me bereft. “We’ll eat at my house.” He kissed my forehead, reached over, grabbed the seatbelt, and fastened me in again. My hands went to my hair as I looked around for the hair tie. “Leave it.” I stopped my search but couldn’t help running my fingers through the mussed tangles. Killian’s hand captured mine. “No.” He released my fingers just as fast as he verbalized the one word. I wasn’t a pushover, didn’t have much experience with guys, but I had some. I should have argued, straightened my hair anyway, or even voiced some sort of displeasure. An electrically charged pulse shot straight to the junction of my thighs, and there I went and tried to stain his car’s upholstery. I kept my mouth shut.
