Aubrey needs a muse for her romance novel. Little does she know that her own romance is sitting right in front of her. Keeping her guard up, Alex slowly tears it down. From first glance at Aubrey, Alex has this innate need to know her. In his courtship, he prays his reputation doesn't stand in his way.

Just when we think HEA is on the horizon, tragedy strikes and Aubrey is left to pick up the pieces of her broken heart, her broken life. On her journey, she makes a new friend who helps her pick up the pieces.

When Joanne Schwehm asked me to read and review her book for her. I was excited to do so. I'd seen the teasers, and her muse and couldn't wait to place him inside with his character. I really loved this book. And O.M.G. the twist. NEVER. SAW. IT. COMING. When it happened, I jumped on FB and immediately messaged her. I was in shock and had no words. THAT never happens to me. There are very few writers who can render me speechless, and bam, she did.

Don't miss this book. It has a little bit of everything in it, and then some. That ending... it still renders me speechless when I think about it.

Hankering for book 2.... gotta go harass her a little more. :)

WARNING ~ Keep Tissues on Hand.

See that warning above? Yea, keep 'em handy. You'll need them.

L.L. Collins has a best seller here. This is my prediction. This book will tear you apart, break your heart, make you ugly cry, & make you wanna jump in and smack the MC upside the head. Then when you think all hope is lost, it will make you cheer, make you happy cry, and then swoon.

We go on a journey of love, loss, survival, & the will it takes to get yourself up, dust off, & start Living Again.

She's created for us a man that we all dream of. I know there are hundreds of book boyfriends out there, but to go to the lengths that Ben does. *swoon* A man who after everything else is gone, he is the only one who can bring her back. He is the perfect match to Kayley's broken heart. He doesn't give up on her in any way. Getting Kayley to open up again & start living her life again is one of the biggest challenges he's ever faced. And one of the most rewarding.

One thing I really loved about this book is that it's REAL. This is real life. It may not have happened to me, or the author, but this is stuff that people go through every single day. And it's gut wrenching, and it sucks. Until that one person comes along, gives us hope, and shows us that it's going to be okay.

This is one of my Must Read books of 2013. Don't miss it.

Review ~ In A Heartbeat ~ Hilary Storm

In A Heartbeat

Rebel Walking #1

Hilary Storm

Synopsis~

Eaven Bennett is a college student with a passion for photography. She has high hopes of completing college and starting a new life as she moves away from her hometown with her best friend, Ivy Adams. Her last boyfriend ruined any chance of her trusting ever again.

Talon Walker is the dark and intriguing drummer for the up and coming band ‘Rebel Walking’. A tragedy in his past has left him empty with no desire for a relationship. That is until he meets Eaven.

One minute your heart is filled with love, the next your entire life comes crashing down. Everything can change in a heartbeat. Can Eaven and Talon overcome the obstacles in their way and find love?

Amy's Thoughts~

In A Heartbeat is the story of Eaven. Off to college with her best friend Ivy, both girls living it up and enjoying life. First night at school, they head off to meet up with Eaven's cousin Luke & his band. Little does Eaven know her future is right in front of her.

Immediately upon meeting, Eaven is enamored with Talon - the quiet, backwards twin to Taron (<3 those names). Talon is the drummer in the band, beyond talented, yet tortured and haunted by what might have been. Eaven is just the woman Talon needs to bring him out of the past and help him heal.

Hilary Storm did a fantastic job with this couple. While there was a little bit of angst, it was overwhelmingly angsty. Taron's asshatery & Ivy's antics helped break up the tension when needed.

This blogger was anxiously awaiting the 2nd book Heaven Sent. Thankfully I didn't have to wait too long. Check out my review on Heaven Sent and enter the giveaway here!!

Her gentle warmth and quirky sense of humor make him feel whole for the first time in too long. But to stay that way forever, Tate must find a way to accept his past and learn to live for love.

Amy's Thoughts~

**ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Tate Odder is the star goalie for the Nashville Assassins hockey team. He's great at his job, has awesome friends from the team including his best friend Lucas. The only ting he doesn't have but wants is someone to spend his life with. And being a young, ripe 21 year old. Most people think he's insane for wanting that settle down at such an age. But they just don't understand.

Audrey has been in and out of love several times in ehr life. The most recent is the most screwed up!  After a one-night stand with aptly dubbed - "blondie"- she's done with men. Besides, who can love half a woman?

Tate immediately recognizes Audrey as his runaway one-night stand. He figures it's time to stake his claim whether she wants it or not. The fact that she's 7 years older than him is nothing in his mind, yet everything in hers. When I requested Empty Net, I didn't know it was a part of a series. Now that I do know, Yea, I'm totally one-clicking those bad boys. I can't wait to read more about the sexy Assassins. Toni Aleo has a new fan!!

Amy's Thoughts~

There was a lot of hype surrounding this book. So when the BT signups landed in my inbox, I jumped on it. It was one of those I knew I wouldn't pass up no matter how busy I was. And ya know, I'm so glad I made that decision. What I found within the pages of Whiskey Lullaby was don't give up, never give up, no matter what life throws your way.

Writing a non-spoiler review for this one is a little difficult. Why? Because so much happens inside the story. I can definitely say that Julie is an exceptionally strong MC. Regardless of what life threw at her, she stood tall and didn't let it break her. And if anyone had a reason to break, it was her. Jase just breaks my heart. The poor guy is lied to repeatedly over the years, had they not lied, he would have made things right years ago. Yea, he made mistakes but really who doesn't? No need to crucify him over and over again.

Emily Minton and Dawn Martens did an amazing job with Whiskey Lullaby. The title certainly fits the story to a T. Jase and Julie will be a comfort read in the future that I turn to again and again. Their story is one that exceeds the bonds in which life sets for us. They chose to breaks those bonds and create new ones.

***BT & Giveaway** Heaven Sent ~ Hilary Storm

Heaven Sent

Rebel Walking Book 2

Hilary Storm

Synopsis~

The Rebel Walking Series continues with Taron and Ivy's story, Heaven Sent. The explosive chemistry that these two share ignites a relationship of epic proportions.

He has been dubbed 'the panty stealer', but Taron Walker has his eyes set on the beautiful, full of life, Ivy Adams. Ivy doesn't usually put up with the player type, yet there is something about Taron that has her intrigued. Taron must leave to go on tour with Rebel Walking and Ivy will be left to face serious struggles on her own. Will she reach out to Taron for help, or will she push him away? Can these two find happiness in each other's arms, or will they tear each other's world apart?

Amy's Thoughts~

In In A Heartbeat we read the story of Talon & Eaven. We also got a sneak peak at the relationship between Taron & Ivy.

Heaven Sent is their story.

Ivy is a smart-mouted, female version of Taron. We get a taste of her real feelings in this one. She is an exceptionally strong young woman. I'm not really certain what all happened in her life as a child other than she ended up practically being adopted by Eaven's parents. While we know she has a very strong personality, I do wish we would have gotten a bit more of a look into what made her that way. What happened in her past that forced her to put a wall up? And what made her so afraid to be dependent in anyway on a man. And why in the world she felt the need to be the martyr. Not only with Taron, but Eaven as well.

Taron. Oh Taron. He's the male version of Ivy. Mouthy on the outside, but sweet and caring on the inside. Convincing Ivy that his love & dedication to her is difficult consider his past with the groupies. And rally it surprised me how quickly he flipped his position on relationships. Ivy was it for him. Getting her there was the problem.

I love the dynamics between the 2 of them. their toasts! Their back and forth quips were awesome.

I am anxiously anticipating the next book in the series. I hope my thoughts are spot on for who it is going to be. <3

Excerpt~

Heaven Sent
by Hilary Storm
~One~
Ivy

He is everywhere.
In my thoughts.
In my dreams.
In my air.

I’m trying to fight my attraction to Taron, but my heart doesn’t seem to listen to my mind. I know it’s a disaster waiting to happen if I give in, yet I still keep thinking of the possibilities.

He has a past. So do I.
He loves to flirt. So do I.
He will be leaving to go on tour tomorrow. I won’t.

He was there for me when I thought I lost my best friend. The title ‘best friend’ doesn’t really do what we have justice. Eaven is my sister. We may come from different blood, but in all aspects that count we are family. A couple of months ago Eaven was kidnapped and driven into the river by her boyfriend’s ex. Taron never left my side the entire time we were searching for her or when she was recovering in the hospital. He has been to my apartment to check on me daily since Eaven has been staying with Talon to recover.

Don’t get me wrong. He has continuously made advances toward me since we found out Eaven was going to be ok. He flirts non-stop, but I’m a girl who likes all of that attention. I just don’t want to share my attention with other girls.

I have to decide if I can handle sharing him before I give myself to him completely. After all he is the lead singer in the band ‘Rebel Walking’. They are going to be gone more on tour now. This will be their second time to go on tour with main stream bands. They were such a huge success the first time, they were chosen to be the opening band at every single one of ‘Beckoning Reality’s‘ concerts. I heard all of the details from Taron when he called to check on me while he was away on the first tour.

I’ve managed to fight him off until this point, but I’m sure since he leaves in the morning, he will be trying extra hard tonight to get me to cave.

Smitty has kicked off a celebration to send the band off in style. It looks like everyone has shown up to see the band one last time. This place is packed.

Eaven and I went shopping for new outfits this week. She wants to look exceptional tonight since she is sending her fiancé off for four weeks. She is just recently engaged to Talon and they are perfect for each other. I am so excited that she found someone who makes her happy and treats her right. He just happens to look identical to the guy that I am fighting myself to not like. Talon and Taron Walker are identical twins. The story of the two sisters falling in love with twin bad boys is one that never comes true.

I look over and see Taron at the band’s reserved table talking to his twin. My eyes shift to his broad shoulders and the dark, tight shirt that doesn’t leave much to the imagination. I’ve been in his arms a few times and I know that his chest and stomach are sculpted and just as defined as the shirt makes it appear. He has dark hair, almost black. He wears it messy so that it looks like he just got out of bed. The look really works for him. I know that he does put effort into his hair because I have been stuck waiting on him to get ready.

He jumps up to pester his older brother Holden and I begin to appreciate the view of his ass in those jeans. His jeans hang just right, just the way I love to see. I’ve never let him know that I appreciate how he looks. He would never let me live it down if I did.

Eaven leaves me to make her way to Talon. I see Taron begin to search the room as soon as he sees her arrive. He spots me and starts to look me up and down. His eyes never leave me as he stalks across the room.

“Poison Ivy! It is such a pleasure to see you out for the kill tonight.” He takes his index finger and runs it down my chest and into the valley of my cleavage causing my shirt to lower. He stops just before he exposes me.

“Do you want to lose that finger?” I really want him to continue, but I would never tell him that.

“I would love for you to take my entire finger.” He removes his digit from my chest and I know his meaning behind his reply. He has never been shy about his sexual desire with me.

“In your dreams.” I turn away from him to begin my walk to the table. He stops me after only a few steps. He grabs my hips and holds me against him. I can feel him invading my space again. He is consuming all of my senses. He leans down to whisper in my ear.

“Yea that pretty much sums it up.”

My body heats up as his breath blows past my ear. The sensation sends a shiver through my body and heat straight to my core. He holds me so close that I can feel how much he wants me as it presses into my backside.

“When are you going to quit playing hard to get? You know we will be hot together. You know you want what only I can give you.” He begins to sway back and forth with the music.

I want what he is offering me so much. I want to let go and ride the roller coaster that is Taron. I know there will be ups and downs. I just don’t know if I can hang on until the end and exit the ride safely. I don’t know if he will break my heart.

Usually I don’t let myself get attached to a guy. We have fun and then say our goodbyes. Taron managed to work his way into my life in a way that we are so beyond a simple affair without strings. I just don’t know if he is capable of what I want.

I want him. All of him. To myself. No sharing.

“I don’t want to share,” I say through the lump in my throat.

“I don’t have any intentions of sharing you.” He flips me around to face him. He guides my arms over his shoulders and slowly drags his hands back down my arms, down my sides, and then around my waist. He flattens both of his hands out on my butt cheeks and presses me further into him. We continue to sway with the music.

I look into his eyes. I can see desire. I can see the same heat that I feel. I decide to give in. I pull him down to meet my lips. He doesn’t waste any time joining my tongue. I know he is a great kisser. We have already established the hot chemistry between us once before. He continues to press himself into me and the pressure makes me crave more of him.

“Spend the night with me.” He is begging me through the tone of his voice.

I bow my head in thought and he kisses my forehead. He uses his large hands to guide my head back up to look at him. He closes his eyes as he nears me and begins to softly kiss my lips. This gentle side of him is my undoing.

“My place isn’t as crowded. I’m pretty sure you won’t want your brothers to hear what I have planned for you.” I nibble on his bottom lip as I pull away from his lips.

“Fuuuuccckk Me.” He has a huge smile on his face.

“I have to sing a few songs and then you are mine.” He holds me tight until the rest of the band has taken the stage. When Talon and Luke start to play, he finally releases me. “Don’t go anywhere. I want to watch you while I am on stage.”

I stay exactly where he leaves me. I enjoy the songs so much more this time. It seems like he is singing them directly to me. His eyes are intense and he never really looks anywhere but at me. The crowd is still going wild trying to get his attention. Panties and bras are thrown up at him, but he never averts his attention away from me.

I feel someone up against my back and I turn to see who is standing this close to me. It’s Dylan. His job relocated him a couple of months back. We went out a couple of times, but we weren’t exclusive.

“Hey Dylan.” I smile at him and place my hand on his arm stepping sideways just a little to give myself some room.

“Ivy. How is my girl?” The way he just said my girl irritates me. He grips my arm very tightly and I yank it from his grip. What the hell is his problem?

“I am not anyone’s girl.”

Aiden is next to me in a matter of seconds. Aiden and I have been friends since we met. In the beginning he wanted to be more than friends. I think he finally realized that my feelings for Taron are much deeper than I let on and he backed off. He started dating another girl, but we still talk daily. We sometimes meet for dinner or drinks when he has time. He is pure country. He is pure country cowboy with a perfect gentleman demeanor.

“Get your hands off of Ivy.” Aiden is in Dylan’s face the instant he can be.

“You got a problem, cowboy?” Dylan pushes Aiden back.

“Lay a hand on a girl and you are the one with a big problem. It will be the last time you use your hands.” Aiden is dead serious with his threat. “Let’s take this outside.” The cowboys surround Dylan.

Taron busts through the crowd that has surrounded us. He slams into Dylan’s chest with the rage of a fighter. His force slams Dylan to the ground. Taron has his arm pressing into Dylan’s throat causing him to gasp for air.

“You touch her again, motherfucker, and I will personally make sure that you never live to see tomorrow.” It takes four guys to pull Taron off of Dylan. The cowboys escort Dylan out of the bar and Taron is outraged.

“What the fuck!” He begins to yell in anger.

“Chill out brother.” Talon attempts to calm his twin down.

“What did he say to you? Why is he grabbing you like that? Why is cowboy saving the fucking day?” He is full of questions that I don’t know the answer to.

“He just grabbed my arm tightly and asked how his girl was doing. I told him that I am not anyone’s girl and then Aiden was there. Calm down, please.” I’m starting to feel the stress of him being this angry. My childhood was spent with different men beating on my mother every day. They used to talk to her and look at her like he is talking to me right now. I don’t think he would ever hit me, but his rage is causing old memories to surface that I am not ready to deal with right now.

“Aiden saves the motherfucking day. Doesn’t he?” He is angry with me. Why is he so pissed at me?

“Aiden is just a friend. What is your problem?” I grab him by the collar of his t-shirt and pull his face to mine. “Jealous much?”

“No one should be touching you like that.”

“I agree and it has been handled. Please don’t ruin tonight for us.” I beg him as I hold him an inch from my face trying to get him to focus on me. He finally calms down just as Smitty shows up to see what is going on. I’m thankful that Smitty loves these guys. I’m positive that all of our asses would have been tossed if they weren’t the band that fills this bar every time they schedule.

“I’m done tonight. The show is over.” Taron begins to yell at everyone that is surrounding us. The DJ starts to play some music and the crowd finally moves away.

“I’m ready to break out of here.” He looks frustrated as he looks at me over his shoulder. He has a hold of my hand and our arms are extended between us since I haven’t moved. I see Eaven looking at us with a smile on her face.

I decide to walk in her direction and Taron follows staying attached to my hand. “We’re going to head out.” She knows what we’re leaving to do. She knows me better than I know myself sometimes. She leans over to hug me and manages to whisper in my ear so that Taron can’t hear.

“Be careful my friend.” Then she leans into a hug with him. She whispers something in his ear that I can’t hear.

Taron

“Hurt her, and I will kill you.” Eaven’s threat is heard loud and clear. I have witnessed the bond that these two share, and I know they will always protect each other. My future sister-in-law is a feisty survivor and I don’t plan to cross her. She has proven that she will fight for those she loves.

It takes entirely too long to exit the club. People are everywhere and every time I turn around some girl from one of my past hookups is lingering in my view waiting for the opportunity to ‘meet’ up with me. I know Ivy can sense what these girls are after because she gets defensive before we get out the door.

“Jealous much?” I decide the best way to approach this is to be playful and throw her words right back at her.

“Um…. No. Like I have always said, if you want ‘cock rot’ feel free to play the field, just don’t expect me to hang around.” She is extremely sassy with that fucking mouth of hers. It is what I love and hate so much about her equally. She is a breath of fresh air compared to all of the groupies that I am flooded with constantly.

I have been holding out for Ivy since we started spending so much time together after Eaven’s accident. “There’s no ‘cock rot’ here. My dick may fall off from lack of use lately, but I know that I’m clean. I always wrap it and I get tested regularly.”

I have to protect myself from the lot lizards of the concert scene. They will agree with everything I say or want to do. It’s like they are spineless females that expect me to give them a great fuck and then they know the drill. They head out. I may hit four girls in the same night if I start at the club.

I haven’t had any interest in any of them lately. Been there, fucked that.

There is a sexy brunette that has had all of my attention. I love a challenge. She acts like she isn’t interested in me, but I know that if she has a taste, she will love it. I can’t wait to see if that sassy mouth is just as feisty in the bedroom. If it is, I may not be able to stand it.

Excerpt~

We arrive in Miami, check into our hotel, and immediately decide to check out the Miami night life.
Wearing a barely there silver, backless, halter dress and heels I was ready to dance the night away. At five foot seven inches with my heels, my legs are going on for miles tonight. I put my hair in a loose up do, frame my eyes with a smoky shadow, and add a clear lip gloss to finalize my look.
Brayden is dressed in his typical baggy jeans and t-shirt. He is six foot tall, more of a lanky build with a slight beer belly forming, which is especially noticeable when he stands next to a very toned and muscular Ryder. His dirty blonde hair and crystal blue eyes, which hold such depth they make me melt every time he looks at me. We both love to go out. We met four years ago at a bar in Charlotte while we were both celebrating another finished semester of college.
We arrive at Cameo nightclub in downtown Miami and immediately hit the dance floor. There is something about the atmosphere of a club that just takes over my senses. The bodies pressed together, each finding their own rhythm as the vibrations from the bass reverberates through the crowd.
Having Brayden up against my back side running his hands all over my body as we move to the music is enough to bring my nipples to attention rubbing against the thin scrap of fabric, otherwise known as my dress. His hands roam, as we dance, moving the back of my barely there dress over the hills of my ass, leaving me exposed. My bare backside now grinding against the erection of his jeans is delightful friction. He then places one hand upon my breast and begins to tease it, while he plunges two fingers, from the other, into my hot core. I am so turned on I don’t care who sees me. When I am almost ready to explode, he stops.
Grabbing me, he leads me to a back hallway, where he quickly pushes me up against the wall, freeing himself and pounding into me. Raw, needing passion, transfers between us as I have an earth shattering orgasm. Brayden follows right behind me. As we straighten ourselves, he smiles and whispers, “I love that you never wear panties, baby.”

Excerpt~

Ryder

What is this girls name again? Ah hell, she wants to feel special and I can’t even manage to remember her name. Lauren, Lori, Laura, something like that, I think. Brayden will find this entertaining once we arrive at the restaurant. I text him to see if we can stop by for introductions, he said sure thin. I am off to let some chick meet my roommate and best friend. The things I do to get a new piece of ass.
Girls are raised with a misconception of prince charming coming to take away all of their problems. Thing is, prince charming doesn’t exist in real life, that is why they are in fairy tales. Like Cinderella’s step sisters trying to make the shoe fit, women can’t form men into a certain fit, the way they want. When it’s right, the slipper will slide right on. Always remember it’s made of glass so it must be handled with care. That is the reality of love right there, when its right you still have to be gentle and take care of it in all of its fragile states.
Add to that the balance of Daddy/daughter relationships and men don’t stand a chance. You will either find the Daddy’s girl who’s first love is her Dad. These girls are confident. They are in no rush to accept anything less than real emotion, real love because their Dad gave them that security. The flip side to that are the ones with Daddy issues. The woman whose dead beat Dad walked away without teaching them real love; only abandonment. These girls are usually easy and are just looking for a connection in any way they can feel it. Even if it’s just a fleeting moment, a rush, they want to feel love. After a few heartbreaks, they become real man haters.
Either way, from childhood, most little girl’s dream of the day they find their forever in a man. This makes it easy for them to fall for the many lines a hormone driven dude, such as myself, will give them. They strive so much for that connection, that security, they will believe just about anything you say. What they know to be a lie, they convince themselves that they can change in you. Overcome the bad boy, change the player into a one woman man, surely they can love you enough to change you. Love conquers all, after all, that’s what they are told from the time they are hosting pretend tea parties.
I am young still, not ready to be tied down or deal with the delicate nature of love and a serious relationship. I do believe in love, commitment, and forever. I just know that now is not the time in my life for such seriousness. Until that day comes I want to taste the variety of women that exist in my world.
I have spent a week texting this chick, making her feel special. It’s not enough though and she says she wants to meet my friends. Really feel like she knows me. I love a challenge so fine you can meet my friends.
We walk into the restaurant where Brayden is having dinner with Maggie, his girlfriend, and Dina her roommate. As soon as we enter I feel a charge in the room. I see her sitting with them and I am immediately consumed. She is a magnet drawing me over to her. Never have I felt an instant pull to someone, like this.
Dina is a downhome, gorgeous girl. Her makeup is subtle, with natural looking hair, perhaps just some high lights she just carries a casual comfortable look. To be honest, I would find her sexy in a paper bag. She has on a black shirt that dips down just enough to hint at her cleavage. She has curves, gorgeous curves in all the right places. She is by no means a big girl, she is skinny, but with boobs and ass that are definitely enough for a man to enjoy. Her flat stomach is calling out for me to run my hand up it to cup her very full breasts or down to her hips to slide around and scoop her luscious ass. When she looks at me, I feel like she is looking directly into my soul. The world seems to stop around us as I am pulled into Dina and everything that is her.
After we get beyond the hello’s some prick is manhandling my Dina out of her seat. Whoa! My Dina, where did that come from? I don’t know why, but my adrenaline and instinct are now in overdrive. I am burning with fire coursing through my veins.
Before any of us could react, they were gone. Maggie is crying as Brayden is trying to quickly settle their check. The blonde with me is grabbing at my arm. I shake her off, leaving her there as I climb in Braydens car behind Maggie.
When we arrive at the apartment, Brayden escorts Maggie inside. I stay out front searching for the prick so I can shove him around a bit. Adrenaline, anger, disgust, rage, and an emotion I can’t manage to describe, all well up inside me.
Brayden comes out almost immediately. The look on his face is horror and pure hatred. My boy is a firecracker with a lit fuse about to blow. The look on his face, his demeanor, it all sends me into overdrive.
Through gritted teeth, Brayden says, “His name is Michael and he’s roughed her up in the face. Maggie swears this is the first time. I don’t give a shit. He needs to be taught a lesson.”

Chelsea always wanted to be a writer, but like most of us, let fear of the unknown grab a hold of her dream; she realized that if she was going to tell her daughter to go for her dreams, that it was time to follow her own advice. Chelsea grew up turning wrenches alongside her father, and from that grew her love for old muscle cars and Harley Davidson motorcycles, which just so happened to inspired her ‘Daddy’s Girls’ series. Her love for reading has sparked a new love for writing and she currently has a few more projects in the works. When she is not spending her days writing you can find her playing with her kids, attending car shows, going on motorcycle rides on the back of her husband’s Harley, snuggling down with her new favorite book or watching any movie that Vin Diesel might happen to be in. She hates being serious and is still a big kid at heart. She is a small town country girl enjoying life and, Chelsea hopes that her readers remember not to take life too seriously and to embrace your inner five year old, because five year olds know how to enjoy the simple things in life and how to always have fun.

**Book Blitz & Giveaway** Cowboy Town ~ Kasey Millstead

Ever since her parents passed away in a tragic car accident, Eden Cross has been living a quiet, stable and predictable life in inner Sydney – the total opposite of her carefree, relaxed, happy-go-lucky past. Her parents passing and the fact she’s an only child meant Eden was left with her best friend, Jules and Matt, her boyfriend of three years as her only family. That was until she discovered something about Matt that would turn her life upside down. Eden leaves Sydney in a hurry and begins an adventure that takes her across four Australian states before she lands in Pine Creek, Northern Territory.

Jackson Henley has lived in Pine Creek his entire life. He runs a massive cattle and cropping station with his twin brother, Jeremy, which they inherited when their parents retired. He’s had a bad experience with relationships courtesy of The Bitch - Dannika, so lately he’s preferred to play the field. That is, until he comes face to face with the stunning brunette beauty who’s behind the bar at the Cow and Calf. The problem is, she won’t tell him her name, she won’t give him the time of day, and she won’t give him a chance to prove himself.

What’s it going to take for Eden to give Jackson a chance? Does he have the patience to even bother fighting for her? How will he handle the competition?

In the end, will Jackson have what it takes to convince Eden to start living again, instead of just existing?

“Hey, gorgeous, can I get another beer?”  I turn my attention from the one-man show and spot Luke, the guy who was here yesterday, and he’s waving an empty glass at me.

“Sure thing,” I reply.  I grab a glass and pull his beer, hand it to him, take his money and return his change.

“So, Dory’s put ya to work, has she?”

“Just helping her out for tonight,” I smile, then sweep my gaze along the bar checking that no one needs refills.  It’s during this exercise that I spot the man who has just walked in.  My breath gets caught in my throat as I watch him take a seat at the bar.  I see his lips move and he’s smiling at people but it’s too loud to hear what he’s saying.  I’m captivated.  He’s utterly gorgeous.  The epitome of Cowboy Hot.  His hair is dark and his jaw is square.  His body is built – broad across the shoulders and narrowing slightly at his hips.  He spots someone across the bar and hands them a fully-fledged, bright white, straight-toothed smile.  My breath leaves me in a whoosh, and then catches again as what has to be his twin slides onto the stool beside him.  Oh my fucking god.

I’ve got a job to do.  I have to pull it together.  It’s not like I’ve never been in contact with good looking guys before.  I worked in one of Sydney’s hottest bars for four years for fuck’s sake.  I mentally slap myself across the face and tell myself to pull it together.  Then I walk across to where they’re sitting and set about getting their order.

“What’ll it be, boys?” I ask in my most relaxed I’m-not-affected-by-you-at-all voice.

Hotty One unashamedly rakes his gaze over my body.  Slowly.  So slowly, I feel my blood start to heat – just from him looking at me.  I must be going mad.  Perhaps it’s the heat up here.  I’m not used to it all.  I really should have worn some linen shorts instead of jeans.

“You, later,” he winks suggestively when he finally pulls his eyes to mine.  Now, don’t get me wrong – the wink was hot.  Fucking hot.  It was the way he said it that turned me off.  You know those guys that can get anyone they want?  Yeah, they’re not so bad.  It’s the ones who can get anyone they want, and they know it, and they show it – that’s the turn off.  Just with that line, Hotty One has shown me he’s a player, unfaithful, untrustworthy and most definitely not the kind of guy I want to get involved with – in bed, or out of.  But, as a woman, I’d rather die than have him know how he affected me, so I tilt my head to the side, smile my cheeky smile and say, “Not tonight, handsome. Or ever.  Drink?”

* I'm 29 years old
* I've been married to my husband Troy for 10 years and together we have 4 children - Zach, Jovi, Demi & Cruz.
* I live in a small country town in NSW, Australia
* I LOVE to read and write
* I LOVE to bake
* I LOVE socializing

* My friends laugh at me because I will talk to anyone, anywhere.  It's funny now but it wasn't so funny for my mum when she had to drag me away from strange homeless people at the train station when I was little, and I may or may not have been going to go in crop dusting plane with a man I'd just met when I was about 4!!

* I read fiction until I was 11 years old.  After that I read non-fiction, true crime, bio's etc.  When my son Jovi drowned in 2011, I found I couldn't bring myself to read non fiction anymore - it was too "real".  Fifty Shades was dominating the media so I got myself a copy and I'm not ashamed to say I read all three of those books at least ten times each.  They allowed me to forget my reality for a little while.  Then I decided that I was going to follow my dreams and write.  I wanted to show my children that just because their brother died, didn't mean they did or our family did.  I want them to reach for the stars and chase their dreams, and the best way to do that is to lead by example!
