****ENVISIONED by Nikki Narvaez BLOG TOUR**** Giveaway!!!!!

Envisioned

By: Nikki Narvaez

Synopsis~

Brielle De Luca thought she was just an average girl, despite her nightly dreams of an impending apocalypse, along with a gorgeous man that pulls at her soul.

However, on the night of her 18th birthday, everything changes when she is thrown into the Elemental World, a world where she is supposedly the One that is spoken about in an ancient Prophecy; a Prophecy that states she is the key to preventing an apocalypse.

Now she must learn to control her power over the four elements, all while dealing with the love and intense passion of her bond to the man from her dreams, Jace Vasquez.

Piece of cake, right?

Excerpt~

He stepped closer, only a couple of feet away from me. He smelled heavenly, like rain and citrus. “Every night. I've been trying to figure out a way to find you, to save you, and here you are, so close all this time, and I never knew,” he sadly said.

It was my turn to step closer. Tears pooled in my eyes as I said, “I didn't think you existed. I hoped that you did, but I thought I was crazy to believe that I could find you.”

I reached out my hand to touch his face. When I did, a jolt of electricity sparked between us, spreading what felt like burning honey throughout every inch of my body. What was happening to me? Whatever it was, I didn't want it to stop; it was one of those pains that felt amazingly good, almost addictive. Jace's eyes widened as an astonished smile spread across his face. “Unbelievable,” he said as he grabbed a handful of my curls at the back of my head, pulling my face to his to crush his lips to mine.

His kiss was desperate, just like his gaze in my nightmares, only multiplied. I opened his mouth with my tongue, tangling with his as our passion increased. I had never had a kiss come close to this one, and it had just started. He tasted exotic, a subtle sweetness present as he caressed my tongue with his. I clutched his shirt, twisting it in my hands as I tried to pull his body to become one with mine. Heat rushed in-between my thighs and pooled there, sending tendrils of burning warmth up my stomach. I never wanted this to end; the world could stop turning right now, and I would be oblivious, deliriously happy in Jace's lips.

Amy's Thoughts~

Welcome to the world of the Elementals.

Earth, fire, water, & air.

Every Elemental has one, but only the One can control them all.

Twin Flames ~ one soul, separated by the gods, to find one another, soul mates.

The Prophecy ~ A child will be born, who within, the blood of Air, Earth, Fire, & Water dwell, The Sky will fall to reclaim the Earth, and bring forth the depths of Hell, Fire will journey to the mountains cast from Medusa's gaze, To halt what Evil has been sent to raze.

Meet Brielle, she dreams of an unknown man. Nightmares of him being taken from her. On her 18th birthday she gets an untimely introduction to the world of the Elementals & she meets him - Jace.

Jace - Fire Elemental - UFC fighter champion - gave up meeting his Flame, didn't believe in the twin flame, until he meets her. He thought the dreams were just dreams, he never thought she was real.

One touch, and two lives were changed. FOREVER.

The author pulls us into a world of gods & goddess, Elementals, monsters & magic. Throughout the story we get amazing details to fill us in on the world she has created, and she did an amazing job. Wonderful details that are generally overlooked, the author didn't miss a beat. There was plenty of fighting, magic, love & sex in this one! And she did a pretty welcome job of helping me create the world in my head. In felt like I was there.

Fantastic start to her series. I'm anxious to see what she packs into the 2nd installment.

DOWN 'N' DERBY

Synopsis~

Maddox is running.

By accident, he discovered long ago that he was adopted as a baby and his need to find his biological father has consumed him ever since. Now, on a road trip, determined to find his father and his sanity, and armed with locations and his cousin, Nixon, to help him, maybe he can find the answers he’s been searching for. With nothing but a suitcase and a wad of cash to get him there, lead after lead takes him further from home.

But he’ll find much more than he intended.

He finds Storey, a pint sized pin-up model who has learned painful lessons about guys. Her wounds run deep, but so do his. She knows what she wants, but will she recognize it when it’s right in front of her?

Maddox can’t touch anyone without feeling like his skin is crawling, but just maybe his instinct to protect this amazing girl will supersede his own hang-ups.

If he can brush her skin and start to feel alive inside...everything will change.

Excerpt~

He got up after that but turned around after a few steps later and gave me one last piece of his pitiful mind. “You’re cute all right, but damn, what a wench.”

I was prepared to shrug him off. I was usually called the ice queen or frosty by guys and this was just one more instance where I could care less what he thought of me. But Suntan had a different plan. He stood up as the pig was passing and said something in a voice so low and deep that I couldn’t hear the words. But whatever it was Pig didn’t like it one bit. He shoved Suntan back a few steps and I could tell he let that happen. If he wanted to, he wouldn’t have moved one inch. The other guy with him now stood up behind him, jeering him on. “Kick his ass, Maddox.”

“Don’t touch me again and you should apologize to the lady. Where I come from we don’t call women that name—ever.”

The guy laughed and got closer to him, “I’ll talk to her any way I want to. This isn’t Hickville, this is California.”

Before I knew what was happening, Maddox, I now knew his name, swung the guy around, bolted him in a headlock and they were both storming towards me. I could feel my eyes grow to the size of silver dollars. What was he doing?

He made the guy come to a stop in front of me and then clipped the back of his knees with his foot which made Pig kneel in front of me. “I asked nicely,” Maddox said to him through clenched teeth, “Now I’m asking not nicely, apologize to the lady before you pass out.” He mumbled a sorry and I accepted, I think. I was so shocked I could hardly speak.

Amy's Thoughts~

Maddox is a mystery man. At first glance, particularly, in the previous books, he was the funny guy, the one who always made light of any situation. Could make anyone laugh. Maddox is a pretty tormented guy. He's held on for so long wondering about his real father, that he's on mission to find him. To find the answers to his questions. He hopes he's not hurting his family in the process. What no one knows about Mad, is that he gets an itchy feeling when he touches other people, even his family. He doesn't feel cold. Almost as if he is so tormented he's blocked out all feeling.

Storey, wow, what a MC! She's a derby princess, but for the past few years, she's been playing a pin up model to pay for college. She's got the pin up glamour down pat, and boy can she work it! The great thing about Storey? Even though she's famous, she's totally down to earth, looking forward to the end of her contract & the normal things in life. Maddox and Storey meet by pure chance that they have ended up on the same beach. They are instantly attracted to one another, but Maddox is terrified that if he touches her he will get that feeling again. It's a wild ride to go on with Maddox as he discovers new things about himself and about his love for Storey and his family.

I've gone on and on about Lila Felix in my previous posts. And really, what else can I say? She has a way of telling a story that reader is so immersed in it that the lines between reality and fantasy blur. I have loved every book that she has written and she truly has a fan in me. I can not wait until the next book in the Love & Skate series.

Interview with Lila Felix~

1. What or who inspired your passion for writing?

Books, a lifetime love of books.  And my family, I wouldn’t be a writer without them.

2.  Where is your favorite place to write?

At first I wrote in my recliner, then as I started writing more and more, I can just about write anywhere.  But my favorite place is at my desk surrounded by coffee and my iPad opened to the thesaurus app.

3. Where do you find your inspiration?

Real life.  I’m one of these observant people.  I can just sit at the mall and people watch.  The stories just pop up in my brain.

4. Do you develop your characters before writing or do they just flow naturally?

I know who they are before I write them.  I know them so well.

5. Do you listen to music as you write, if so, what bands?

I listen to music from the time I get up until the time I go to sleep.  Lately, my fave bands are Phosphorescent, Noah and the Whale, The Pretty Reckless, The Heavy and the Neighbourhood.

6. If you could see your characters from Love & Skate on the big screen, who would play them?

Oh, wow.  I have no idea.  I would just be excited to have it be a movie.

7.  Do you have any quirky habits you do while writing? If so, What are they?

I usually wear my husband’s Lowe’s #48 hat when I’m writing.  I always have coffee.  And headphones—headphone are a must.

8. Do you have any tattoos? If not, what would you choose if you got one?
I don’t.  My husband has over a dozen but I don’t.  I’m too afraid of needles.  If I could have one, I would get a quote from Pablo Neruda, my favorite poet and an anchor, I love the old school anchors.  My husband has two.

9. Who are YOUR favorite authors?

Shelly Crane, Rachel Higginson, Anne Eliot, Anne Hargrove, Claire Farrell, Rachel Deagan, Katella Stegmann.

10. If someone wanted to get started writing, what advice would you give them?

Work your butt off. Write until your eyes cross and your fingers bleed. (Not really, but you know what I mean) Don’t depend on anyone else to do the legwork for you, it’s not their book, it’s yours.  I repeat do the legwork.  Send emails to bloggers, do promotional giveaways, take full advantage of social media networks (Facebook, Twitter, Goodreads, Spotify, IHeartRadio, Pinterest, Tumblr), find a group of authors that you can rely on for advice and help.  Then write, write, write some more.

***OFF LIMITS by Sawyer Bennett BLOG TOUR & GIVEAWAY***

Off Limits Blog Tour

Off Limits

by: Sawyer Bennett

Synopsis~

"There is a vulnerability there, hovering just below the surface. And I want to pick at it until I expose it. Then I want to kiss it."

Two years ago, Emily Burnham, had an epiphany about the shallowness of her life. And she made it her mission to become a different person…a better woman. Out from under the controlling thumb of her mother, Emily is tasting the real world for the first time. And she likes it.

Nixon Caldwell has served his time in the Marine Corps, surviving two brutal tours in Afghanistan. He is back home, surrounded by what he likes best…isolation. It's certainly the easiest way to avoid confrontation of the consuming guilt that is weighing him down.

When an accident brings Emily and Nix together, he soon learns he is not the master of his own fate. Struggling with his own pain, Nix tries to guard himself against Emily’s charms. He wants her in his bed, but he doesn’t want her in his heart.

Having grabbed life by the horns, Emily wants it all. But is she willing to accept just the small part of himself that Nix is offering? Can she reach the part of his soul that he has deemed to be Off Limits?

This book is the follow up novel to Off Sides by Sawyer Bennett. It can be read as a stand-alone.

AMAZON: http://www.amazon.com/Off-Limits-ebook/dp/B00CD6KQSK/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1368140703&sr=8-1&keywords=off+limits

Fun Facts about Off Limits

Emily has certainly changed a lot. She likes to hang out in biker bars and play pool.

Nix has a tattoo that wraps around his body and has incredible meaning to the story. Your heart will ache when you read about his tattoo.

Nix has a psychiatric service dog named Harley.

The word “Fuck” is used 74 times in this novel. Buyer Beware.  70 of those times are by Nix Caldwell.  It’s a Marine Corps thing. Only 1 time by Emily...she is a proper lady 99% of the time. And the other 3?  You have to read to find out who else has a potty mouth.

Just as in Off Sides...you will hate Emily’s mother in this book. Her dad makes a significant appearance though and you’ll find, he may not be such a bad guy after all.

***REVIEW*** Let Love In by Melissa Collins

Let Love In

Release day: May 10, 2013

by Melissa Collins

Synopsis~

What would happen if you lost everything?  If the people who were supposed to love you unconditionally were no longer there for you, how would your world change?
That’s exactly what happened to Madeleine Becker when her parents died when she was ten years old.  Ripped from her home and everything that she has ever loved, she is forced to start all over again.  The only way for her to move on is to build walls around her heart and keep everyone at a safe distance. Her logic: she can't get hurt if she doesn't fall in love.
That theory is blown to pieces when she meets Reid Connely during her freshman year at college. He is gorgeous and darkly mysterious. He understands Maddy's pain all too well, but sharing his pain would mean breaking down the walls he put up around his own heart. Conflicted between loving Maddy and hiding his dark past, Reid starts to reevaluate his world.  Maddy's inner strength, snarky personality and breath taking beauty help Reid to make peace with his past.
Together they find out what happens when they let love in.

Excerpt~

There was a group playing quarters on the island and another group lining up shots on the breakfast bar – so not my scene.  I just shrugged my shoulders, opened the door, pulled out a bottle of water and, when I turned around to walk back outside, I face-planted into a wall of solid muscle.

“Hand me one?” His voice was smooth and... gruff at the same time.  Red-faced, I turned back around and got him his water, glad for the cool respite that the opened refrigerator door offered.

“Here you go.” I could not peel my eyes away from his mouth as he moved the bottle to his lips.  They were perfect - beautiful and full in a completely masculine way.  I watched, completely fascinated, as his throat moved, downing the water in three or four large gulps. He wiped his mouth with his forearm and I couldn’t help but let my eyes travel up the rest of his arm to his biceps and shoulders – those were the same as his lips – perfect.  Amazingly, gorgeously, utterly, divinely perfect.  Muscled and tanned, his arms were mouthwatering.

My knees wobbled.  My heart thudded.  Thousands of butterflies spread their wings in my belly.

“Thanks…” he stared blankly at my face for a minute and I couldn't help but wondering if he liked what he saw.  He cleared his throat and roused me from my little daydream where the gorgeous boy is mesmerized by the maybe-a-little-above-average looking girl.  That’s when I realized he was asking for my name.

“Maddy.  Sorry, my name’s Maddy." I nearly choked on my tongue to get my freaking name out.

Amy's Thoughts~

**ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review**

Ya know, straight up, I just love this book.  I'm going to do my best to let you know how amazing this book is without giving away spoilers.

I knew within the first chapter that I was going to love this book. Maddy has been through so much crap! I knew her story was going to be amazing. She has built such strong walls around herself to protect herself, it was going to take a just as strong man to knock them all down.

Reid, oh my Reid! Where were the men like this when I was in school??? I swear they just don't exist.

Together these two have so much love, angst to work through. It like fate is throwing them one thing after another.

Melissa Collins did an amazing job of creating this story. Maddy and Reid, I feel like I know them! I could feel their pain. Seeing their relationship flourish was a beautiful sight, Melissa truly left no stone uncovered. She has me hooked, I need to find out more about Maddy & Reid.

5 shiny, bright stars for this New Author.

About the Author~

I’ve always been an avid reader. Majoring in English Literature was a no brainer. Becoming a teacher and instilling my love for reading into my students was also a no brainer. I’ve spent the last ten years teaching and I’ve loved (mostly) every minute of it. When I was home on maternity leave for my third son, I discovered a new genre that sparked my creativity. My passion for writing sprang from my love of reading and once I knew I had a story to tell, I couldn’t wait to get it out there. I only hope that my readers enjoy reading my story as much as I enjoyed writing it.

The Awesome Suzanne Carroll

About the Author~

Suzanne lives in Sydney with her husband and children. By day she works in an office where she sneakily scribbles plot ideas on yellow sticky notes and hopes they don't accidentally end up on the departmental monthly report.
One such sticky note has turned into her first novel, Over the Edge.

Q & A with Suzanne~

Q. What were your thoughts when you found out you were
being published? And how excited were you to find an Australian publisher?

A.
Mm, my thoughts when I found out I was being published. Something along the lines of “Really? No. Seriously? Really?” I was overwhelmed, I think. It had been a dream of mine since childhood, so to have it realised was…yeah, overwhelming! I remember when I got the email on my phone, I walked downstairs and I was kind of speechless, holding the phone out to my husband and just saying “look, look”. Then there was a lot of hugging and laughing and the kids joined in, jumping around. It was a good moment. And to be honest, I don’t know if I was excited to find an Australian publisher, I was just excited to find a publisher, full stop! But yeah, the fact that my publisher is Australian is a nice bonus.

Review~

ARC provided by The Writer's Coffee Shop Publishing House via NetGalley in exchange for an honest review.

Meet Zoe Harper....
Zoe is in the midst of dealing with a psychotic soon-to-be Mother-in-law, a fiance, who quite literally doesn't listen when she speaks. When the future MIL takes over Zoe's wedding, she loses it. Newly single, Zoe sets out to find herself. A Bucket List of sorts. Soon, she finds herself giving waltz lessons in the arms of her boss.

Insert Angus Creed...
Can we say YUM?! Angus Creed is hot. Uber-HOT! After a very public breakup, Angus becomes reclusive. Staying away from the spot light, never getting close to anyone. Now that he's back in Sidney, he finds himself making any excuse to get close to Zoe.

Zoe & Angus did not act like a couple. They didn't look like a couple. They are friends.

I love the flow of the relationship between Zoe & Angus. Again, they are friends. Just being there for one another, never crossing those boundaries. The awesome thing about them?? They don't even have to set lines for the boundaries. They just know them, from talking or body language. These two can definitely read one another. I love the confidence we see in Zoe at the end of the book. She goes from being a meek mouse to a fire breathing dragon. And it's FABULOUS!

The author did an amazing job of portraying the relationship between Zoe & angus. I felt like they were never going to get where they needed to be to get together. And when they did?? I didn't want it to end! I would love to see another chapter (or 20) about where Zoe & Angus are headed, what they face.

And I LOVE LOVE LOVE the last scene in the book. IT WAS PERFECT!!

Suzanne Carroll has gained a new fan for life!

Kitchen Affairs by Brooke Cumberland

Kitchen Affairs
Brooke Cumberland

The most important things in Molly Woods life are her daughter and finishing up culinary school. She has no desire for a man in her life other than her best friend, Michael. Suddenly there's Drake. Drake Staglinao is the manager of the hotel/restaurant where Molly is interning the last semester of school. And he has his eyes set on Molly.

Molly & Drake set off on a romantic roller coaster of hidden temper tantrums, jealousy, sex in the kitchen, & *gasp* naughty pictures. Pictures that through a jealous rage, get released to her entire class. Then to the paparazzi.

Drake is a broody, moody man. We see flashes of his true personality in this book, but I think we are going to get to see the REAL Drake in the next book. I really liked Molly, I felt like I got a good sense on her character, the type of person she is, and the pain she has been through losing her first love. Drake is an enigma! It's still with me, there's something not quite right there.

I did feel like the book was somewhat anti-climatic with regards to what happened with the photos and the person behind them. Overall, excellent read and I am anxious to get to the bottom of Drake. Where is Kitchen Scandals???? Haha I want it now!!

On a side note for you grammar nazi's, there was one blunder grammar wise, not a big deal, but it is repeated throughout the book. Don't freak out, doesn't interrupt the flow of the book, and the author is fully aware of it! It's not worth missing the book over!

My French Vanilla by D.L. Kelly

My French Vanilla
D.L. Kelly

Ms. Suzanne Simmons, newly divorced, ready to meet life head on. She's got her best friend, Jackie, by her side. They sign for an adult cooking class at a local college. Time to have some fun and do the things Suzy has always wanted to do.

Chef Robert Donvier, a French Kentuckian (I know right?!?!). Chef extraordinaire, restaurateur, & University of Kentucky alumni (yay go Wildcats!!). He is instantly attracted to Suzy and can not wait to get to know her better.

Suzy & Robert embark on a whirlwind romance, battling best friends, tragedy, and ex husbands.

Compliments to D.L. Kelly on her first book. I really enjoyed the story and the life the characters had. I enjoyed that this wasn't young people trying to find love. This was a book of a divorcee trying to find herself again. I felt like the MCs meshed well together, however, I didn't feel a good emotional bond with them. I think this - at least for me - is in part due to Robert calling her Miss Suzy. When she was a student in his class, I can see it being totally acceptable for him to call her Miss Suzy, but to continue this in their personal lives made me feel like.... I don't know really. I also felt like the last chapter of the book would have worked better as an epilogue, the book ended well at the end of the previous chapter.

Overall, definitely a good read, I would read another of her books!!

About the Author~

D.L.Kelly is a retired RN, having worked as a nurse for almost forty years. She lives in Latrobe, PA, (summer training camp of the Pittsburgh Steelers) with her husband Bob and canine children Nellie and Jenny.
When she’s not reading or writing Ms. Kelly enjoys working in her garden, cooking, painting, (especially on walls) and Steeler football. My French Vanilla is her first published novel. She is working on several new ones.
“I have been writing since age 13, when my eight-grade nun read my short story aloud in class. First I was embarrassed , then I thought, ‘Hmm, maybe this is something I could do.’ I’ve tried to publish in the traditional way but found it difficult and expensive, and was happy to hear about the Createspace/Amazon program.”

Penthouse Suite

Kate had vowed to fill her life with grand adventures, but she'd never shared the fun... until one slightly stuffy pirate vowed to carry her off to his fantasy island. Kate believed in taking risks and moving on, while Max had silenced his private demons by building a world more safe than exciting... until he fell in love with a spirited gypsy. Could they bridge their very different lives by sharing Max's castle in the air?

Amy's Thoughts~

Ya know when I started reading this book I ran across a few lines of it thinking "what time period is this book set in???" Here I was thinking it was a current time setting. To me it felt like the 80s. Here was the MC going out for a jog in some serious running shorts and A SWEAT BAND on his head. Then there was the heroine wearing a gown that was held together by seashells at the shoulder & her hair swept up on one side with a shell. All I can remember thinking was omg this is the 80s!!!!!

So I go over to Amazon to get the synopsis for this post and discover, this is a re-release!!!! Original publication date? 1989. That right there explains soooo much.

So, anyway, I really enjoyed the MCs, I enjoyed the "different" story line. The whole thing with the 80s, threw me to the point that I, honestly, couldn't finish the book. This is very, very rare for me. I always finish my books! Even now, days later, when I think of opening the book to finish it, I just can't do it. Just can not do it!

I don't know that I will ever finish this book. Maybe if it was re-written and updated?? Maybe.
