In high school, Jake was the bad boy who made Michelle burn with desire, took what he wanted from her body, and broke her heart. In hindsight, Michelle never should have gotten tangled up with the aspiring guitarist in the first place. In high school, Devlin was a sweet, shy geek who’d had a crush on her, but when he’d found the courage to ask her to Prom, she’d turned him down flat. In hindsight, she should have worried more about the quality of the boy than her reputation with the popular crowd. But this isn’t high school anymore. At her ten year class reunion, Michelle finds her once popular crowd lacking, but finds both the man who broke her heart and the one she once rejected irresistibly sexy. She wants them. Both of them. And they want her any way—every way—they can have her. Can she resist either man? Does she even want to try?

Let's dive right in. :)
When I heard Olivia Cunning was going to be a part of this anthology, I instantly wondered if we were going to get another sexy little novella about of favorite group of Sinners. She did one better. Not only did we get to see a little bit of Sed, she gave us one of his besties - and roadie - Jake. As usual, Olivia Cunning has no problem giving us plenty of sex and steam with her work. She managed to rock this short story, and had me wishing for a little more time with the Sinners crew. It's time to step back in time to senior prom - a la 10 year class reunion. Sexy Bad boy Jake is on the hunt for "the one that got away", Dev is on the cruise for the one who ripped his heart out. Michelle? She's open to just about anything - including being in the middle.
Once again, Nicole Edwards killed me. She chose SLIH to introduce us to a new family, a new crew, and some sexy hot new scenes. Now, I'm wishing I had book one of the Dead Heat Ranch crew in my hands. She gave us her uninhibited sex scenes that were scorching and wishing we had a couple of cowboys on hand to make everything better. Good God this woman knows her menage. Gracie Lambert has no clue why she's getting all the attention she's getting from Grant and Lane. She also has no clue they are lovers until one night when she accidentally walks in on them. That one moment sets the guys off on a "we wont't stop" trip to get their girl and make her understand they are what she wants and needs.
Cherrie Lynn has yet to disappoint me with her work. Love her writing style and love the sexy stories she brings to the table. I will thrilled when I found out she was apart of this anthology. Shameless introduces us to Meredith Taylor. Meredith is in love with her brother's best friend, Cameron. She has been for years. While on a family vacation, Meredith is unfortunate enough to over hear Cameron with another woman. Sick and tired of waiting around for him to notice her, she decides it's time to make a move or move on.
Kristen Proby. What do you get when Kristen decides to mix 2 sexy firefighters and one charity event planner? Fire and flames, that's what. A spinoff from the With Me series, she brings us Bailey and all her sexy kinks. As Bailey sets off to explore her wild side, she had no idea it was possible to fall for two men at once. Quite frankly, being with two men at once, is a little out of her expertise. But eh, why not? What's the worst that could happen?
Before SLIH I had never read anything by Lainey Reese - I know, crazy right?? All I can say is holy cow. Where the he*^ have I been?? When Nadia gets a crazy stalker and the police do nothing to help, she enlists the help of Jonas and Caleb. These two mouthwatering men are not only ex-military, they are best friends, they are Masters. When they find out the prim and proper Nadia's secret lifestyle, all stops are pulled as they try to protect her, and sex her up to show her what's she's been writing about. Needless to say, I was a one-clicking fool on everything Lainey Reese I could find when I finished SLIH.
Overall, like some kink? Love some menage? Maybe even a little bit of m/m lovin? Some Like it Hot is definitely the book for you. Keep a change of panties on hand or your SO close by, you're going to need it.
~~~ Q & A w/ CHERRIE LYNN ~~~
1. What does it mean to you to work with this amazing team of authors, who have come together to bring us Some Like It Hot?
I can’t even tell you how thrilled and honored I was to be invited to participate in this anthology. Seriously, sometimes I think I’m dreaming. These ladies are all amazingly talented authors, and for me to have a story alongside theirs is so humbling. I’m so thankful to them. Anthologies are a wonderful opportunity to reach new readers, and I hope that’s exactly what we all achieve with Some Like It Hot.
2. I was introduced to your work back when the Unleashed (Ross Siblings 1) was first released. Now that the Ross Siblings have come to a close, what should we expect to see from you in the next year?
The Ross siblings’ stories are told (mostly!) but Dermamania has at least one more story in it! I’m currently writing a book for Starla and Jared. I don’t have any release info yet, though I hope to very soon. It’s (very tentatively) titled Watch Me Fall. And y’all…get ready. You might need the Kleenex handy for this one. Just sayin’. :)
3. As a blogger, I have met authors who can write multiple manuscripts at one time; I've also met those who focus simply on one story at a time. Which works best for you and why?
Focusing on one works best for me. I wish I could work on several at once, and yes, there have been occasions when I had two manuscripts open on my computer at one time, but one of them always ends up taking the bulk of my attention until it’s done. I simply don’t want to overload myself. I let myself get into crunches quite often, and they take such a physical toll on me. If I write like a maniac for days, I’ll get weak, shaky and exhausted as if I’ve run a marathon or something. I guess my brain has, in a way. So, realizing this about myself, I try to keep projects lined up where I can shoot them down one at a time. If I was working like a madwoman on several books at once, well, I’d probably end up in the hospital!
4. You've written Contemporary and 2 Paranormal Romance titles, do you find yourself gravitating to one particular genre? Do you see yourself exploring more genres in the future? What genres do you prefer as a reader?
I actually started out wanting to write paranormal. I have an old vampire novel lurking on my hard drive right now that will never see the light of day (trust me, that’s a good thing)! Trying my hand at contemporary was somewhat of a departure for me, and I wasn’t sure I’d be able to pull it off. Once I did, though, I loved it. I did venture back and write a couple of paranormals. I had those ideas burning n my head, so I just went for it. And it was still incredibly fun! But I’ve built such an amazingly awesome fan base on my Ross siblings/Dermamania series that I’m sure spicy contemporary is where I’ll stay for the foreseeable future.
As far as what I read—mostly paranormal and contemporary. I like a good historical every now and then. But I also love horror and fantasy; I’ve finally delved into Game of Thrones, and I got on a Stephen King kick for a while. I find the more diverse my reading material, the easier my own writing seems to flow.
5. Where do you draw your inspiration from? Day to day life & Personal experiences? Or do your characters simply demand the story as you write it? Do you argue with the characters?
Most of my ideas come from simply daydreaming, but yes, day to day life and personal experience is a big factor too. I was in New Orleans for the Romantic Times Booklovers’ Convention last week, and I doubt many authors left there without a seed of inspiration. Music also inspires me a lot and oh, yes, my characters absolutely demand their story! I rarely plot. I begin with a vague idea and just go. They’ll show me the way. If it’s not working, I know, so I’ll scrap what I have and start over. I lost count of how many times I started over writing Ghost and Macy’s book (Leave Me Breathless), but once I found their voices, it was pretty easy. This is probably why I’m not a fast writer, which I apologize for, but I have to do it the way that works for me. I’ve tried all the plotting and outlining techniques. Doesn’t matter. My characters end up taking it in the direction they want to go anyway. SHAMELESS is probably the closest I’ve come to plotting…but it’s short, so it wasn’t a big deal.
I don’t talk to my characters or argue with them like many writers; I see them and the scenes as if I’m watching a movie in my head. But I know everything about them, even things that might not make it onto the page.
Thanks so much for the great questions! I think it’s so interesting to hear about different authors’ techniques. I keep waiting to hear about one that will make me not so much of a disorganized, procrastinating hot mess, but it hasn’t come along yet! :)
