Jason “Jase” MacLane grew up surrounded by money. Being half of Anderson-MacLane Industries had its privileges and provided a rather comfortable life for Jase and his siblings. Sure his family worked hard for that money, but to the opposite sex, that’s what made Jase so damn attractive. His luck with women, and love, sucked. It took a few ex-girlfriends, and one cheating ex-wife, to cement the idea that he’d never be worth more to a woman than the amount of money he had in his bank account.
Cassandra “Cassie” Middleton grew up in a working class family, surrounded by more love than money. When her parents died, Cassie stepped in and took care of her teenage sister, while putting her own life on hold. It took one selfish ex-boyfriend, and one distant ex-husband, to prove to her that she was better suited for the role of caregiver and mother than for what she wanted most – to be desired and loved for who she was, rather than for what she did.
When Cassie buys the old Potts Farm out from under Jase, the compost hits the fan, and then the sparks fly. Cassie sees Jase as more than a means to financial security, and Jase see Cassie as more than a mom and a provider. However, the demons from their past relationships prevent them from seeing themselves for who they really are. It will take trust, perseverance, one hell of a wild ride, and the willingness to risk it all, just one more time, to find the love they both deserve. Sometimes, you just need to find the right person to help you drive out your demons…

R.J. VanCleave
Golden!
This series by R.J. VanCleave is destined to be one of the great ones!
I recived this ARC in return for an honest review.
Amazed at how quickly I was sucked into this story. I wasn't sure when I was sent this ARC of Demons what to expect but holy moly I feel extremely blessed to have had a chance to read it. Having said that, I truly feel music feeds the soul and R.J.VanCleave has served up a heaping helping.
Once the rhythm of the book took hold the title (Demons) made perfect sense. This authors ability to use current music to help describe (main characters) Cassandra and Jasons feelings and fears is absolute perfection!
Divorced women, hot male neighbor... sound familiar ?
Well let me tell you it's not THAT story. Not.At.All. Packed with quick witt and sassiness, Cassandra and her twin daughters are trying to settle into country living when the McClain brothers decide to give her a wake up call. Little did the oldest, Jason McClain know he was the one getting the wake up call. Angered by the women who stole his dream by outbidding him on the property next to his family farm and the feelings sparked as he stood in her kitchen, what happens next is a journey of faith, love, and learning to trust that special person to help remove the "Demons" that hide inside.
I would give this one a billion stars but will have to settle for 5!
Thank goodness the story doesn't end here... waiting for book two!

R.J. Van Cleave was born and raised in a small town just east of San Diego, California, where she still resides, today. From the time R.J. was a small child, she wanted to be a doctor or have lots of babies. Her sixth grade teacher ignited a passion for science that carried on into high school, where she also happened to fall in love with a cute guy and American and British literature, courtesy of another great teacher (the literature part, not the cute guy - she blames him on her sister).
She graduated from the University of San Diego, with a Bachelor of Arts in Biology, and a minor in English Literature, which she 'brilliantly' decided to declare during her junior year. Forgoing medical school for motherhood, R.J. married her high school sweetheart, got a job in the bio-medical field, and had her first child. She eventually quit her full-time job to become a stay at home mom, and eight years after their first child, she and her husband were surprised to discover they were having fraternal twins.
After her mother died unexpectedly in 2011, she inherited her elderly father and her mother’s two dogs, Bandit and Jaxon (a.k.a., Jackass). R.J. currently spends her days buried under mountains of laundry and schoolwork, and cares for her three daughters (the Teen and twins Frick & Frack), her husband (the Man-child), her father (the Old Fart), the dogs, two cats (Max and 'editor' Patches), and way too many fish. She is addicted to English and Irish Breakfast teas, and Tazo Chai tea lattes (her version of an espresso), which help keep her awake while she attempts to write down the stories of the characters that have taken up residence in her head. Luckily, she gets along quite well with them - well, for now anyway. She’d love to hear from her readers and engage in real, adult conversations, so please, drop her a line.
