Axton isn’t only a bad boy, he's the President of The Selected Sinners Motorcycle Club, a 1%er Outlaw Motorcycle Club. At the onset of a gun deal with a notorious Mexican prison gang, there is no place in Axton’s life or mind for a college girl with a smart mouth.

Avery quickly becomes willing to sacrifice whatever she must for a shot at Axton.

Axton is willing to sacrifice nothing, and has no interest in her advances. His mind and devotion are on his club brothers and finishing the gun deal with the MS-13, which will allow one of his brothers in prison to make it out alive.

Although he believes he ultimately stands for what is moral and justified, he admits sometimes the lines simply become blurred. In short, Toad is a walking contradiction. Sydney Shephard is an orphan, and has recently lost her only sibling, an older brother, to a lifelong prison sentence. After losing her job, she is now homeless, penniless, and without any form of family or friend.

As easy as it may be to do so, she refuses to lose her spirit, her spunk, or her sense of humor.
After having been in multiple abusive relationships in her past, Sydney has vowed to either live a life of solitude, or find a man who will treat her as an equal.

When a bank robbery goes awry, leaving Toad on one side of the bank, and Sydney on the other, Toad must make a decision and make it quick.

And when Toad decides to do something, heaven help anyone who tries to stop him.

The universe must hate me. No, it must downright fucking despise me.
Of all the concerts in all the world, she has to be at mine. In fucking Denver of all places. Literally the last place in the universe I would expect to see her.
My mind can’t stop replaying our exchange. Or how lovingly that dress clung to her mouthwatering curves. Seeing her conjured up memories I keep firmly locked in the box of Robyn that I never open. Ever.
Seeing her unexpectedly reminded me of the first time I ever laid eyes on her and practically transported me back in time.
“God, I love this song,” she’d announced the night we met. “Come dance with me.”
She’d grabbed my hand with surprising strength for a petite redhead who couldn’t have weighed a hundred pounds soaking wet. She had the kind of raspy voice that instantly made you think of dirty talk. Or maybe that was just me. I had just turned sixteen and was basically a hard-on with a pulse.
Gavin had raised his eyebrows and smirked as she dragged me closer to the truck blaring the music. She shook her sexy ass and sang at the top of her lungs, off key, but proudly off key. I couldn’t take my eyes or my hands off her. For several years.

***Blog Tour** Something's Gotta Give** Tempered Steel Series Book 3 ~ Maggie Adams ~ Donna's Review ~

Something’s Gotta Give,
Book 3 in the Tempered Steel Series
by Maggie Adams,
Genre: Romance
Release Date: June 30th
 photo Somethings Gotta Give Cover_zpsfd1odefq.jpg

Chance Coalson loves women. And they love him. Young or old, no woman is immune to his charm.
Except one.

Georgia Haines is the only female volunteer firefighter in Grafton. She’s had a crush on Chance Coalson since he offered her his handkerchief at her momma’s funeral. But she’s smart enough to know that it takes a special woman to tame a charmer like Chance, and there’s nothing particularly special about her.

When fire breaks out at the Coalson’s construction business and Chance is trapped inside, Georgia braves the flames to save him, only to discover her “crush” has morphed into love. And she’s helpless to hide her desire.

Chance awakens to find an angel breathing life into his lungs with a kiss. The woman he wanted more than any other was the one who paid the “Casanova of the County” no mind.
So how does a man with a bad reputation convince a shy firefighter that he’s worth taking a chance on love?
By fighting fire with fire…..

Georgia came alive. “No! Don’t touch me!” She twisted away from him and flew around the tree. Peeking at him from around the fat branch, she said accusingly, “What’s the matter, Chance? Am I the only woman to break it off first?”

“Georgia! What the hell are you talking about?” Chance had no idea what had changed since last night. “I love you.”

“You say that now, but I can’t believe it. If I let you, you will trample across my heart just like my father did to my mother. I’m not going to let you get that far.”

Chance took in her wide-eyed face and the panic in her voice. Missy Dee had filled him in on her parent’s relationship, and Georgia’s feelings on the matter, but he hadn’t really listened. And now he didn’t know what to do. How do you fight damn ghosts?

“Georgia, honey, you’re overreacting. What happened to your parents was unfortunate, but it doesn’t apply to us. We love each other.” Chance tried to placate her.

“My mother told me how my father would say that he loved her right before he left to be with one of his other women. You can’t trust a man. You can’t give him your heart,” she cried out.

“We are not your parents! We have the choices here,” he roared as he advanced on her. “We chose to make love last night. Me and you. And there were no goddamn ghost lurking around trying to screw it up.”

He stopped for a moment trying to find a way to reason with her. “What we felt last night was not sex, Georgia. We made love. Love manifested in the physical sense. It was precious, sweetheart. You can’t believe I would feel that way with any other woman, now that I’ve had you.”

NOTE: To see Donna's reviews of the first two books in this series, see the links below.

Something's Gotta Give takes place at the same time as Leather and Lace.

Chance Coalson is known as The Cassanova of the County. Woman of all ages love him. He is drop-dead gorgeous, extremely well built, tall, beautiful eyes, deep voice, a killer smile, good manners, respect for others, likes kids, and, last but not least, loves and respects his momma. *fanning myself* My idea of a HOT, SEXY man! He works with his brother, Mac, at Coalson Construction.

Georgia Haines owns a daycare and is a volunteer firefighter. Due to her father deserting her mother and her, Georgia is determined to never allow a man to steal her heart. She believes if she marries, her husband will leave like her father did. She also sees herself as unattractive to men - even though it isn't true.

When Georgia was 14 her mother died. Twenty year-old Chance realized she needed a break from the people offering her condolences. He took her outside and gave her a shoulder to cry on. She has been in love with him ever since. Georgia has never given Chance any idea of her feelings for him.

Now Chance has set his sights on Georgia and is determined to make her his forever love. He is going to have to work hard to convince Georgia that happily-ever-afters are real.

All the characters from the first 2 books are back in Book 3. The Coalsons are still trying to determine who is out to destroy them but aren't making a lot of progress. The attacks are becoming more personal and violent.

I enjoyed this story. It moves at a good pace and held my attention. The characters are well-developed and interesting. The chemistry between Chance and Georgia is HOT!! I loved the way he volunteered to help out at the daycare thinking it would be a cake walk, an easy way to be around Georgia and prove he was a good guy. He found out it is a hard job but he also found it rewarding. He was so good with the kids. I will never think of chicken casserole without laughing!! Read the story to find out why!

I do feel this book could have been fleshed out a little more. There were a few places it felt rushed to me. You definitely need to read this series in order or you will be lost in some places.

I recommend reading the Tempered Steel Series. There are 7 Coalson brothers and they will all have their story told. I have it on good authority that the Coalson parents will also get a book. I hope so.

“Help! I need help. My name is Viveca Farnworth. I’m in a high-rise on the Upper West Side. ***REVIEW*** Rubble and the Wreckage ~ A Gabriel Church Tale ~ Rodd Clark ~ Kat's Review ~

Gabriel Church knows you can’t take a life without first understanding just how feeble life is, how tentative and weak it stands alone. If you desire murder, you hold a life in your hand.
Whether you release it to grant life or
grip tighter to end it, it is at your command and discretion. Gabriel is a serial killer with a story he wants told.

Christian Maxwell studied abnormal psychology in college but chose instead to focus on a career in writing. His background comes in handy when he thinks of writing about a serial killer. He can’t think of anyone more qualified to write the story of Gabriel Lee Church, and do so in the murderer’s own words. It’s been done before, but never with a killer who has yet to be captured or convicted.

There was never anything more than a gentleman’s understanding between the two men that Christian would record Gabriel’s life story. The killer did not ask for his complicity in any crimes, nor did he ever ask for his silence. Christian’s interest in the man, though, is fast becoming something more than academic. When the writer and his subject become unexpected friends and then lovers, the question remains:

What is Gabriel’s endgame . . . and why
does he want his story told?

STOP. Don't do as I first did and say, "I don't think I can read this book." It sounds like a harsher book than it is. Yes, there is a psychological thriller aspect to it, but mostly, it is a love story.  Yes, some character's die in the book, but not in a gruesome way. Trust me when I say, the author handled it with as much class as possible for the subject matter.
*****
Author Rodd Clark grabs your interest quickly in this book and never let's you go. Written in omnipresent, you get the up-close and personal feel of each and every character. I loved that! I was never lost when going from character to character. Mr. Clark worked that beautifully.

Mr. Clark's writing style is eloquent and very well put together when describing each and every scene. While there is sex in the book, it isn't graphic. The descriptions are enough to give you the feel of what is going on,  but not enough for you to picture each and every detail in every scene. Some sex scenes are more graphically told than other's but never to the "nth" degree. It is like he means to give Christian and Gabriel privacy; and he did.

There are some Christian themes that carry through the book, not as lessons, only through Gabriel's life. As you may have also noticed, even Christian's and Gabriel's names are biblical.

Reading the book, I get the sense that Mr. Clark is a very well educated man and knows a lot about psychology. Whether he is self-taught or took courses in it, I wouldn't know, but he has had some education of some sort to be able to write such a deep, well thought out, eloquent book.

This book is definitely a must read if you like M/M romance, psychological thrillers and can stand it if some characters die in the book.

5 Stars!
