EVERYTHING CHANGED IN AN INSTANT.
I thought I knew what was important, but one phone call sent my life into a tailspin.
Alone and afraid, I cling to the one man I shouldn’t.
I was warned about him and told to stay away. “He’s dangerous,” they said.
But the man who could hurt me the most, gave me the greatest comfort.
"He's not who they think," I told myself.
But just like an illusion, things are never what they seem.

Enshrine Excerpt:
She fiddles with her cosmopolitan. “I think you should get your eyes checked next time you’re at the doctor, Cal. He’s always watching you. It’s sexy, but it also creeps me the fuck out. He’s so dangerous.”

I laugh, playing it off, but I’ve noticed it too. “Is he looking over here now?” I ask, refusing to turn around to look for myself.

She leans forward, her eyes peering behind me. “He is. He’s not taking his eyes off us either.”

“He probably thinks we’re trouble or something,” I say and hope she drops the topic because I’d rather find out what she was going on about before.

“You can pretend like you don’t think he’s hot, Cal, but I’ve seen you flirt with him more than once.”

I shake my head and chuckle softly. “Smiling and saying hello isn’t necessarily flirting.”

“He has a thing for you.”

“He probably has a thing for every girl in this place.”

“Nope.” She shakes her head vigorously and puckers her lips. “He wants you.”

**RB** Needing To Fall ~ Ryan Michele

Title: Needing to Fall
Author: Ryan Michele
Genre: Inspirational Romance
Release Date: January 25, 2016
Cover Designer: Melissa Gill MGbookcovers
Have you ever sunk inside yourself to a place of darkness so deep you couldn’t see the light? Had no hope? Felt completely alone in a world filled with so many people?

I have. I’ve lived it, breathed it.

Why?

Because life hated me.

It disliked me from the moment of conception, despised me when I was born, loathed me when I bounced from each foster home, and kicked me in the gut when I watched the one thing that meant everything to me leave.

For years, I drifted, unable to find my footing, never knowing what the word stable meant. Then a single moment in time rocked me to my core, changing me and making that solid ground I so desperately craved crumble at my feet, causing me to fall farther than I’d ever imagined.

The darkness of the swirling tornado that is depression captured me, pulling me down to its depths, drowning me, suffocating me, owning me.

A depth so deep, I didn’t think I’d survive and didn’t care if I did. I only wanted peace. I wanted the pain to disappear. I wanted to be … free.

Needing to fall into the cyclone of darkness was the only way I could find the light.

**Warning: This book covers many tough issues—including, but not limited to, depression, anxiety, post-traumatic stress disorder, and abuse. It is a very highly charged, emotional read. 18+ Only. Please note: depression, PSTD, and other issues covered in this book take different lengths of time to combat—some take a lifetime. In this book, time is skewed and sped up to flow with the story line.**

Since I finished this novel, I have had so many words that I wanted to say, so many feelings that I couldn't even find the words to use. Honestly, when Ryan told me what it was about I was a little scared to read it. I've never been so happy that I did.

Reign's story is one that is tragic. If it could happen to her, it did. I don't want to delve into her issues because it's going to reveal way too much of the story. I will say that Ryan Michele has an inexplicable ability to create and instill some crazy emotions into her characters. I don't think that in all my years as a reader/blogger I have come across a character as complex as Reign.

Lynx has his own set of issues. And while his issues stem from a different source than Reigns, they are so much alike. It brings to the forefront of the mind that although the paths may be different, everything is related. Without one another they fall. But together they are able to face anything that stands in their way. Climb any mountain.

It still blows my mind the complexity of Ryan's characters. There were times I felt like Reign was me. There were times I felt like I was seeing the world through her eyes. To survive the struggles no matter how much you want to give up, shows a strength beyond measure. Needing To Fall has shattered any book that came before it. By far one of the most astonishing books I have ever read. I could pick it up again now and read it all over again.

Ryan Michele has a huge obsession with reading, which only came to life after her best friend said she had to read Twilight. After reading that series, her entire world changed in the blink of an eye. Not only was she sucked into new worlds and all of the wonderful words authors put down on paper, she felt the urge to begin to write down the characters that played inside of her head. In doing so, Safe was born. When she’s not reading or writing, she spends time taking care of her two children and her husband, enjoying the outdoors and laying in the sun.
