****NEW RELEASE 4/30/13**** MOON (NEW SPECIES 10) BY LAURANN DOHNER

MOON
BY: LAURANN DOHNER

NEW SPECIES #10

Synopsis:

Dr. Joyce Yards has never met anyone as irresistible as 466. Their therapy sessions are growing hotter, his raw sexual hunger becoming aggressive, and he refuses to discuss anything except the possibility of getting her naked. Joy understands the dire consequences if she indulges her passion. It will break her heart but she must walk away.

Moon has been drugged, his memory shattered, and he’s now little more than feral, a dangerous threat to everyone. In their need for help, the NSO doctors turn to the only female Moon ever cared about—the one who left him behind two years ago.

Moon isn’t the same male Joy once knew. There are no rules now. If sex tames the wild beast and triggers his fractured memories, allowing him moments of lucidity, then Joy will give him everything, body and soul. She’ll do whatever it takes to save him—even at the cost of her own life.

Have you met the New Species?

About the Author

Luarann Dohner~

I'm a full time ''in house supervisor" (Sounds much better than plain ol' housewife), mother, and author. I've been lucky enough to have spent two decades with the love of my life and look forward to many, many more years with Mr. Laurann. I'm addicted to iced coffee, the occasional candy bar (or two), and trying to get at least five hours of sleep at night.
I love to write all kinds of stories. I think the best part about writing is the fact that real life is always uncertain, always tossing things at us that we have no control over, but when your write you can make sure there's always a happy ending. I love that about being an author. My favorite part is when I sit down at my computer desk, put on my headphones to listen to loud music to block out everything around me, so I can create worlds in front of me. Wolf Protector (Federal Paranormal Unit) by Milly Taiden

Wolf Protector (Federal Paranormal Unit)
Milly Taiden

Welcome to the Federal Paranormal Unit, where FBI meets paranormal. And where you can find Trent Buchanan. Can we just stop for a moment and appreciate the man/shifter that is Trent?!?! *sigh* umm.. Ok where was I? Erica Villa, profiler & agent with the FPU, her ability? She catches glimpses of victims last moments when she touches something that belongs to them or a photograph. She sees everything they see, she feels their pain. Over and over again. Here's the kicker, no one on her team knows exactly what her ability is aside from her boss, Brock.

Trent and Erica are given a new assignment, track down the man responsible for missing college girls before anymore turn up dead. They set off on a manhunt. All the while trying to keep their attraction under control.

Trent has made the mistake of allowing himself to be seen as a player, a womanizer who dates, screws everyone. He has fun with Erica by joking around with her sexually. And of course she ribs him right back! As Trent sees what her gift is doing to her, he turns into a completely different person, putting aside the jokes & sexual innuendos, for her safety & well being.

"Don't you understand that I love being near you. That every moment I spend next to you makes me happy. Holding you in my arms is enough to give me peace." ~Trent

*sigh*

Erica has been hurt, she's been abandoned, she knows the pain of no one wanting her. She learned early in life she needed to keep her mouth closed about her ability. She trusts no one aside from Brock. Erica is in constant battle with herself to let Trent into her world.

"I've never had a family. What if I mess up? What if I don't fit in?"~Erica
"That's what I'm here for, to help you up whenever you fall. Nothing is ever going to be perfect. Take a chance on me, please." ~Trent

Is it too much if I *sigh* again?

This is the first book by Milly Taiden I have read, and lemme just say, I am a goner! I want the next book and I want it now!! Haha

Must read for paranormal romance enthusiasts!!

Hiding Out by Nicole Andrews Moore

Hiding Out
Nicole Andrews Moore

Sam Davenport is the role model for taking on responsibility. Taking control of the family business after his father's death, he is used to bearing the weight on his shoulders. He is all business all the time, especially after his ex. No one can turn his head, until Haley.

Haley Iverson is on the run. Turning up at her college roommate's home on New Year's Day, determined to start her life over. She wears baggy clothes, is extremely timid, and runs about 5 miles a day.

Soon, Haley is off to work as a temporary assistant for Sam. Sam is determined to find out what happened to Haley. Under the guise of wanting to get to know her better, he goes out of his way to come up with excuses to spend time with her. What starts off as natural curiosity turns into friendship & love.

Sam has a deep seeded need to protect Haley, in his process of doing so, he inadvertently exposes her to harm. And he will do whatever it takes to fix it, if only Haley will let him.

I really love Sam, he's not so much controlling but protective & nurturing. He immediately notices something off with Haley, takes some initiative, and handles her with the kids' gloves she needs. The reader can feel the pain and anguish that Haley has experienced, we can feel the trauma of what she went through, and her will to survive it.

The author did a great job of transporting us into the lives of Haley & Sam. I really loved this book & can not wait until the 2nd installment comes out so we can find out more about our dear book brother Adam, I have a feeling Adam is going to be brought to his knees.

As always, Nicole Andrews Moore has me hooked again.

He's So Shy by Linda Cajio

He's So Shy
By: Linda Cajio

**ARC provided by NetGalley in exchange for an honest review**

Meet Richard Creighton. Movie Star, Hottie, Mr. Personality. Or so he wants everyone to believe. What they don't know is that Richard was tormented as a child, he was bullied for everything a kid could be bullied for. And he still pays for it. Richard spends his life proving to all those old bullies that they didn't break him.

Penelope Marsh, hometown girl, school teacher to gifted children. Pen had a major crush on Richard as a child, they just so happen to go to school together. Now, Pen's cousin is directing Richard's movie and they are all back in town.

Pen & Richard go on a whirl wind ride of movie sets, paparazzi, jealous actress, runaway horses, lust, & romance.

While I enjoyed the plot as a whole, I still had issues with a few things. Richard has a tendency to jump in and out of his character on and of set of his movie, there were times that it was difficult or confusing to tell who was talking. It also came across as the characters were very "wishy washy" on their emotions. Neither of the MCs could make up their minds on what they wanted, it was rather frustrating! And could Richard martyrize himself any more?! He blamed everything that could possibly happen on his past, he tormented himself more than the actual events. I also felt like we were missing an actual climax. All relationships have their problems, their issues they must overcome as a couple. While we saw plenty of these problems between the two of them, there wasn't really a big "ah ha" moment for me.

Based on the synopsis, I would have purchased this book, and I would have left exactly the same review. I don't know that it's one I will pick up again in the future, only time will tell.

Friend-Zoned by Belle Aurora

Friend-Zoned
By: Bella Aurora

Valentina Tomic is a tornado! She sweeps in, sucks in everything around her, whirls back out & you're left wondering what the hell just happened?! She thrives on making people smile & giving hugs when needed.

Nikolai Leokov is the owner of The White Rabbit. The hot, sexy owner who never smiles. Being who she is, this drives Tina insane, she must make him smile!

"Smile sometime, Handsome" ~Tina

This sets off the Friend-Zone. An amusing relationship between Tina & her 3 gal pals, & Nik & his 3 brothers. Nights of poker, movies, cupcakes, music, laughter, & love. I love watching Nik realize how truly authentic Tina is with her actions. How she "gives a piece of her heart" to a person when they eat her cupcakes and enjoy them. That's her gift to them. Tina constantly amazes Nik.

Tina has no desire for a relationship. Yet, each time she feels Nik's arms around her, she feels safe, like nothing could protect her more. Nik, who doesn't do relationships, realizes he wants more than friends from Tina. They are stuck in the Friend-Zone.

I love the world Belle Aurora has created within the pages of the Friend-Zoned. I started it last night and I was up till 4am reading!! I finished it up this morning and although I feel like pooh from lack of sleep, I don't regret it at all. I normally don't care for longish monologue, but OMG, listening to Nik & Tina talk to themselves in their heads was laugh-out loud funny!!! This series is one I'm going to keep close. I cried, I laughed, I felt my heart just about beat out of my chest.

I can't wait to read the next book in the series and get another dose of Max, Nik, Ghost, & Trick. <3

Down N Derby (Love & Skate #3)

Down N Derby (Love & Skate #3)
Lila Felix

Maddox is a mystery man. At first glance, particularly, in the previous books, he was the funny guy, the one who always made light of any situation. Could make anyone laugh. Maddox is a pretty tormented guy. He's held on for so long wondering about his real father, that he's on mission to find him. To find the answers to his questions. He hopes he's not hurting his family in the process. What no one knows about Mad, is that he gets an itchy feeling when he touches other people, even his family. He doesn't feel cold. Almost as if he is so tormented he's blocked out all feeling.

Storey, wow, what a MC! She's a derby princess, but for the past few years, she's been playing a pin up model to pay for college. She's got the pin up glamour down pat, and boy can she work it! The great thing about Storey? Even though she's famous, she's totally down to earth, looking forward to the end of her contract & the normal things in life.

Maddox and Storey meet by pure chance that they have ended up on the same beach. They are instantly attracted to one another, but Maddox is terrified that if he touches her he will get that feeling again. It's a wild ride to go on with Maddox as he discovers new things about himself and about his love for Storey and his family.

I've gone on and on about Lila Felix in my previous posts. And really, what else can I say? She has a way of telling a story that reader is so immersed in it that the lines between reality and fantasy blur. I have loved every book that she has written and she truly has a fan in me. I can not wait until the next book in the Love & Skate series.

How it Rolls (Love & Skate #2) by Lila Felix

How it rolls (Love & Skate #2)
Lila Felix

Falcon is an "old soul", he's a 40 year old stuck in a 20 year old body. He doesn't party, he doesn't go out on dates. He works. And works. He's completely selfless. Giving up his time and money for his family, taking care of those who need taken care of. Despite his Mohawk, his piercings, & his tattoos, he's a homebody with a heart of gold. Where can I find him?!

Reed is a lost soul. Pushed into foster care at the age of 11, pushed out at the age of 18. She's lost, homeless, and luckily, finds a friend in Nellie. By befriending Nellie, Reed gets sucked into the amazing world that is the Black family. And finds the family she's always dreamed of.

Falcon, wow Falcon. He's definitely in the top 10 of my favorite book boyfriends. He's so loyal to his family, regardless of what they need or when they need it, he's there in a flash. He submits Reed to the same treatment. All the while falling head over heels for her. And OMG, I love the different sides to Falcon! We see his prim & proper suit, we see him full out rocker with his Mohawk spiked and rocker tees, we see the true Falcon when he's with no one else but his girl.

"She could take her orange hair and stuff it up her... Oh, who was I kidding, I wanted to be her hairbrush" ~ Falcon

Reed doesn't trust easily. She's so prideful, she does whatever she can do to hide her "situation" from Nellie and Falcon. She's so lost, I just want to wrap my arms around her and give her a big hug.

I read this book in a mere 4 hours. I think I'm a bit addicted. I need an anonymous group. Is there a Book Readers Anonymous out there?! I can see it now, "Hi, my name is Amy, and I'm hopelessly addicted to Lila Felix books." =0) I completely LOVE that these female MCs are so unique! Tangerine, teal, hot pink, purple!!!!

Lila Felix has a style of writing that ensures you feel everything the characters are feeling. Every drop of tears, every breath of laughter, every squeeze of a hug, every beat of a heart.

This series is a MUST READ for every book lover.

Love & Skate (Love & Skate #1) by Lila Felix

Love & Skate
Lila Felix

Nellie is a roller derby badass - or so she tries to appear. Owen is a student, doing his best to put the past behind him. Both trying to break the mold, each of them avoiding people who may have the opportunity to judge them.

Owen & Nellie see each other at a glance. Always so preoccupied that they never really paid attention, other than sly glances, each observing the other. Until one day, when Nellie is knocked - slammed - right into Owen's chest.

Owen's family is amazing, they too become a wonderful part of Nellie's life and fulfilled a place in her heart that had been missing.

This is a straight-forward love story of 2 people so alike that they can't help but be drawn together. Their love is challenge when an old friend of Owen's shows up, and the one thing that could make or break them is wavered, trust.

I have been a fan of Lila Felix since I first read Emerge. This book does not disappoint! I love the roller derby angle, & it's "out of the box" characters. Lila Felix hit this one out of the ballpark, and if you do not take the time to read it, you're definitely missing out on a great, feel good series. I, for one, can not wait to read the follow-up books!

REAL by Katy Evans

REAL
Katy Evans

Remington Tate - aka Remy, RIP, Riptide. How to describe the god that is Remington Tate? Sexy, Hot, Wow, Sweet, Aggressive, Damaged, Sexy, Protective, Possessive, Sexy.... Did I mention Sexy? Remy is an ex-pro fighter, now working the underground circuit.

Brooke Dumas is a sports rehab therapist. One who generally doesn't like watching fights, until she sees Remy move. Brooke is looking for a new job, and Remy wants to hire her, he needs a rehab therapist on the road - secretly, he'll do anything to get her to stay with him, to feel her hands on his body.

Their attraction is undeniable from the start. The way Remy looks at her. Oh so smoldering! The things they do together are oh so sweet, and I seriously want to grab my hubs and make him do it with me!

I love that the author hits notes on a very sensitive, generally unknown topic. She's brave in this aspect, because had she gotten it wrong, it would have ruined the book. Thankfully, she got it spot on, and really showed the readers an inside view. I'm trying so hard not to give spoilers and its so difficult to write around a topic.

Trust me when I say that, REAL, is a book that you will read again and again. The love between Remy & Brooke is one that most couple aspire to. Their passion is WOW.

Katy Evans has a new fan, and I can't wait to find out what else is in store for Remy & Brooke.

Beautiful Bastard by Christina Lauren

Beautiful Bastard
By: Christina Lauren

I had never heard of this book until recently, of course from the title alone I was captivated. I had thought I was in for a Fifty-ish book with a cliffhanger. PLEASE NOTE - This book does not have a cliffhanger. I'm glad I was wrong.

Bennet Ryan is a bastard. He knows it, his family knows it, and so does Chloe. He's tried for the past 9 months to ignore his raging attraction to Chloe. Hiding behind snarky comments, clipped heated words, hoping that his attraction would diminish over Time. He was wrong.

What's starts out as straight up, hatred fucking - we are talking A LOT of sex here! And not a lot of it in a bed - eventually grows into more. Ever thought about christening your office? Yea these two take it to a whole new level. If you have considered it, read this for further planning! ;-)

I know some people are probably all weirded out by his panty fascination, but seriously, how is this any different than any other fetish a controlling man has?! It could be worse, he could have been wearing them. Just sayin'!

Their sexual chemistry is so explosive it almost blows you away! It's like flames shooting off the pages H.O.T.

This book is a straight forward love story with a man who thinks he's in control and a woman who quickly corrects him. It's amusing to watch Chloe put Bennet in his place, over and over again. There isn't the deep, dark secrets. I would have liked to have scene more character development. We got bit and pieces in the book. And it was a good book, but it could have been so much more. There wasn't a climax here either. A little bit of issues, but hell, we knew they had issues from page one.

I will read the 2nd book in the series & I will definitely pick up this author again. I might even give it a read when I'm in the mood for something hot & quick. ;-)

About Suly Mulholland:

I was born in Honduras but raised in Green Bay, Wisconsin from a very early age. I went to St. Norbert College in De Pere, WI before joining the U.S. Navy in 2006. After my short career in the military, I got married and started having kids. I have two munchkins now I’ve been a stay at home mom for a couple of years.
This past Christmas, my husband got a Nook Color as a gift and he never got to use it because it was always glued to my hands. I never liked reading but once I picked up that Nook—I was addicted. So I’ve read a TON of books and it’s become my getaway. I started writing as a hobby but after I finished Stay, my husband encouraged me to get out there…so here I am. I love listening to music and find it inspirational and I think that it goes hand in hand with writing.

Off Limits EXCERPT & GIVEAWAY

Off Limits Excerpt & Giveaway!!!!!!!!!
Sawyer Bennett

Synopsis:

“There is a vulnerability there, hovering just below the surface. And I want to pick at it until I expose it. Then I want to kiss it."

Two years ago, Emily Burnham, had an epiphany about the shallowness of her life. And she made it her mission to become a different person…a better woman. Out from under the controlling thumb of her mother, Emily is tasting the real world for the first time. And she likes it.

Nixon Caldwell has served his time in the Marine Corps, surviving two brutal tours in Afghanistan. He is back home, surrounded by what he likes best…isolation. It's certainly the easiest way to avoid confrontation of the consuming guilt that is weighing him down.

When an accident brings Emily and Nix together, he soon learns he is not the master of his own fate. Struggling with his own pain, Nix tries to guard himself against Emily’s charms. He wants her in his bed, but he doesn’t want her in his heart.

Having grabbed life by the horns, Emily wants it all. But is she willing to accept just the small part of himself that Nix is offering? Can she reach the part of his soul that he has deemed to be Off Limits?

This book is the follow up novel to Off Sides by Sawyer Bennett. However, Off Sides can be read as a stand-alone.

EXCERPT:

"This can't happen, Emily."
The disbelief on her face pours through into her voice. "Why?"
Why indeed?
All of those reasons that were sparking through my brain are lost. I know I had sound logic not just ten seconds ago, but I can't grasp it right now.
"Because...we're not...compatible."
She stuns me when she laughs, genuine delight showing in her eyes. "Oh, we're compatible. Your working parts and mine were in perfect alignment just a few seconds ago."
Damn, that is hot!
She's clearly saying that wasn't just a kiss. She's saying she was imagining those multiple orgasms just the way I was. I almost lunge at her to pull her back in my arms, but I have a shocking moment of clarity.
I shake my head at her. "Our parts are definitely compatible, Em. But that's all it would be. It would never be anything but a fuck."
I expect those words to hurt her...to enrage her...to make her realize that Nix Caldwell is the world's biggest asshole. I hope those words cause her to go running from my house in tears.
Instead, she says, "So?"

Meet Sawyer Bennett:

Sawyer Bennett is the pen name for a snarky southern woman and reformed trial lawyer who decided to finally start putting on paper all of the stories that were floating in her head. She is married to a mobster (well, a market researcher) and they have two big, furry dogs who hog the bed. Sawyer would like to report she doesn't have many weaknesses but can be bribed with a nominal amount of milk chocolate.

Off Limits by Sawyer Bennett **ARC review**

****RELEASE TUESDAY, APRIL 16TH****

Off Limits
By Sawyer Bennett

***ARC provided by author in exchange for an honest review. ***

After being raised in a political household where appearances are everything, Emily Burnham has finally broken free. Now that she's away from home at college, has her best friends & brother close by, Emily can be herself. She's at the top of her world & loving it.

Nixon Caldwell can bring any woman to her knees, imagine his surprise when he meets Emily. Nix is a war veteran, trying to get his new business off the ground and doing a great job pretending like all is well in his world. And then, Emily comes crashing in. She is a force that he is not prepared to deal with.

I love Emily. When we first met Emily in Off Sides, she's was a snide, spoiled brat who hung on Mother's coat tails. If Mother said the sky was purple, Emily would agree. If Mother said to hate someone because they were beneath her, Emily would agree. I hated her. And when I found out that she was the MC in this book, I seriously wondered how Emily could redeem herself for me. In Off Limits, the growth & changes we see are astounding. Emily is someone I would be friends with.

Nix is an asshole, straight up. He's hot, but an asshole nonetheless. Nix has been through hell and it shows with his demeanor. I love that he doesn't close himself off from the emotions that Emily evokes in him. On the same hand he doesn't pursue them either. Just kinda rolling with the punches. It's awesome to watch Nix come to the realization that Emily calms him & fulfills him in ways he's only found with his dog, Harley.

What's so awesome with Nix & Emily's story is that they come together under less than ordinary circumstances to the tune of $10k. Really, it's not even that they hate each other, they don't, they are just so different. Nix is so closed off from relationships. Emily is so open to new experiences. It really is truly magical to see these two come together & open up to one another.

Sawyer Bennett has once again grabbed me and pulled me into this awesome world that she has created within the pages of Off Limits. She's truly a great storyteller and I look forward to her future works.

Off Sides by Sawyer Bennett

Off Sides
By Sawyer Bennett

The moment Ryan sees Danny in the diner, he's fascinated. Long blonde hair with purple tips, sporting a nose & brow ring, yea, he's fascinated. From their first date, Danny exposes Ryan to a world he's lived in, but never bothered to see.

Danny has been put through the ringer in her life, losing both of her parents in horrific ways, surprisingly, it hasn't jaded her. Danny always has a smile on her face, and she's not about to let the troubles of life bring her down. Ryan is in awe of Danny, especially after hearing if everything she has gone through. Her strength, wit, outlook, are never ending.

Ryan, while falling in love with Danny, is trying to break free of the picture perfect world his mother lives in. He don't want to be a lawyer or doctor, he doesn't want to be in politics, he wants to be free to make his own path in life. Danny becomes his supporter, his rock, his everything.

I love the strength Danny & Ryan give to one another. The gentle push of encouragement they inspire in one another. The all encompassing love they create together.

Sawyer Bennett has become one of my favorite writers. Since reading Off Sides, and getting to know Sawyer, I've encourage every reader I know to pick up this book and the up-coming Off Limits. Thank you, Sawyer, for sharing your world with us.

Falling Into You by Jasinda Wilder

Falling into You
by Jasinda Wilder

After reading this one, you've got to take a few minutes to get your thoughts together. Wow, what an emotional ride Jasinda takes us on!!! It still blows my mind and I finished it earlier this morning.

I really loved that we got a snippet of the relationship between Kyle and Nell. It gave me a real sense of how their relationship progressed from childhood friendship to infatuation to full blow adolescent love. The reader can really connect with them, we've all had that sweet, all-encompassing, passion of a first love. In that aspect, we can again connect with Nell as she falls into her grief & pain of losing Kyle.

Colton surprises me. When I got a first glimpse of Colton, I didn't expect his story. I knew that he was going to have a profound affect on Nell, especially as she coped with her grief. I loved that he was able to draw Nell out of her denial and help her. He was the only one who could.

Nell and Colton embark on a road to recovery for the both of them. Each for separate reasons hoping to get to the place they need to be.

Their story is heart wrenching, gut wrenching, but necessary. Colt is an amazing rock for Nell and vice versa.

Jasinda Wilder takes us on a roller coaster of emotions & shows us how grief can bring to souls together. Beautiful, amazing job!

Bent by HB Heinzer

Bent
By HB Heinzer

When I think about Bent, the first thing that comes to the front of my mind is one line from the blurb. "It's not possible to hide a twelve year old child in a town of 5000." I knew immediately when I read that line, I was going to be in for a great book. And honestly, I wasn't disappointed.

We meet Julia as she has gone through a divorce and has moved back to her home town temporarily, while she decides what she wants to do next. It's not that she's hurt, it's that she is free. As she bumps into some old friends, Julia soon realizes everyone round her has been keeping secrets, BIG Secrets.

Micha knew when he left Julia, he screwed up. He knew it all those years ago, he knows it now. To find out she's back in town and she's divorced?! It's the spark of hope He's been waiting for. If she doesn't hate him after he explains everything.

If there had been a moral of this story, it would have been honesty is the best policy - every time! Julia feel such heart break at the thoughts of Micha, and really can you blame her?! I read over some other reviews and in some of them, some people were so angry because Julia forgave Micha so quickly. Lets think about it. The emotions that one feels when they are heading off to college are so different than the mature emotions you experience as an adult 12 years in the future. Maybe, just maybe, Julia realizes, hey, this was 12 years ago, enough time has been wasted.

Something I loved about this book, is that this could have been anyone's story. The situations that Micha & Julia deal with, people are faced with daily. The long standing love between the two of them is obivous, but one lesson they missed out on was communication - it would have saved them both from heartache & pain.

As a reader, I did have an issue with the lack of dialogue in certain situations in the book. I felt like there was quite a few places where a written out conversation would have benefitted the book & the characters. This in no way affects how I felt about the story itself. I would read it again in a heartbeat.

Charmed Again (The Charmed Trilogy) by Lindy Zart

Charmed again
Lindy Zart

I was fully prepared to hate this book within the first 2 pages. I love Creed. I fell in love with Creed in the first edition of Charmed. My heart broke for him, I felt such despair for him. His heart was broken, his soul was stripped. I felt betrayed that he didn't get his Sunshine. Through the first few chapters, experiencing his pain and suffering was so hard for me. I wanted to wrap my arms around him and make his world ok again.

Flash forward 20 years, Creed has sequestered himself from Urian, and from Earth. Unbeknownst to him, Urain is crumbling, Manang are losing their powers, Pitied are becoming unclaimed. And no one knows why. Creed is confused and still doesn't care. The darkness is taking over him. I was ready to stop reading. I couldn't watch Creed give up and kill himself with sadness and hopelessness.

Remy is a breath of fresh air. She's been looking for Creed for years, she knows he is her future. I love her determination, no matter what Creed says to her, she doesn't go away, she won't give up. It's her determination to love Creed no matter what that ultimately brings him out of the darkness.

I know there's going to be a third book. And honestly, I am bouncing off the walls for it. Lindy Zart surprised me with this one! I'm hooked!

Accidentally in Love with.... A God?

Accidentally in Love with... A God?
Mimi Jean Pamfiloff

First off I have to say, the title of this book does not match this book at all! What it does do, is tells you exactly what is going to happen by the end of the book. I do not like this!

When I bought this book, I seriously thought it was going to be a short, easy read. Boy, was I wrong! There isn't anything short or easy about this world inside this book.

Emma hears a voice. This voice has been in her head for as far back as she can remember. He ruins everything with his irritating commentary in her head, and won't tell her who he is, where he came from, and why he's in her head.

After a tragic accident, the voice convinces her to go across the globe and he will show her the way to get rid of him. What he doesn't tell her is that he is sucking her into a world of human sacrifices, sexual slavery, gods, & goddesses.

The book takes its readers on a wild ride. And really, you feel like your there. You can feel the angst of the gods at the betrayal of one of there own. You feel the pride you will find in Emma when she realizes all she has become. And you will definitely feel the love between her and Guy.

This is a book I would recommend at any fellow reader who loves a good paranormal romance. Just try to over look the title!

Charmed
by Lindy Zart

On the day Taryn turns eighteen her life changes. A black-eyed man with a chilly aura accosts her and she's abducted by a man who really isn't a man, but a Manang; half-man, half-angel.

She's told she's someone special; a Charmed, and the key to winning in a battle of worlds about to collide. Only problem is, she can be a weapon of good or a weapon of bad, depending on who gets to her first.

Amy's Thoughts:

Meet Taryn, an everyday, average teen trying to find her place in the world.  Well, on her 18th birthday, her place in the world finds her.

Insert Creed, apparently Taryn is Charmed, at least that's what this strange, sexy man is telling her. The Last Charmed. She has powers she's never known, a world to save even though she's never been a part of it, and a Protector named Creed. He's hot, he's mysterious, and there's this Manang/Protector thing that she doesn't understand.

Insert Luke, He's hot & brooding, & she can't figure out why she's so drawn to him. Come to discover, Luke is her Guardian. He's been with her since she was young. They are fated to be together.

Taryn, now she has to assert herself in this new world, find her place, control her powers, save her people, and decide who has her heart. Creed. Luke. Creed. Luke. What's a girl to do?

Lindy has done an amazing job of creating this new world. She pulls you into the world she created and doesn't let go. Even on the last page of the book, you're anxious to jump to the next installment in the series.

Fever (Breathless #2) by Maya Banks

Fever (Breathless #2)
by Maya Banks

Jace Crestwell. This name should now be as synonymous as Gideon Cross, Ethan Blackstone, Gabriel Emerson. Oh good Lord, the ALPHA MALE!

Jace is HOT. He's sexy as hell, and his compassion is a mile wide. As soon as Jace saw Bethany across the ballroom, he knew, just knew, that she was his. For someone who has major kink, and had only threesomes with his best buddy, Ash, experiencing jealousy and possession is a knew one for Jace. After an awkward night in a hotel room, Bethany disappears. Jace does whatever he needs to do to track her down. And when he finds her? He's shocked, terrified, and wants nothing more than to make certain Bethany never has to want for anything again.

Bethany has never had the "good life".  Tossed from foster family to foster family for years, she's now on the streets. She never knows where she's going to lay her head, never knows where her next meal is coming from, and certainly trusts no one outside of her foster brother Jack. Bethany is weary of Jace, always wondering when Jace is going to toss her away.

Bethany and Jace are amazing characters. From the opposite sides of the tracks, they come together and create magic. I loved seeing a new twist on the trials that our MCs face. It's not often I come across a book where characters are homeless, former drug addicts who attract the attention and love of a millionaire Dom. Full control, that's what Jace wants from Bethany. Due to her past, and her skittish nature, he holds himself back. Not knowing that this is what Bethany wants! Someone who can take care of everything, she's tired of having to worry about every single little thing.

Once these 2 get over their lack of thorough communication, things come together more perfectly than they imagine.

I love that Jace seems to know exactly what Bethany needs. Its wonderful seeing Bethany get settled into her independence and we start to see pieces of her true personality.

Maya Banks has done an amazing job with this series, as she usually does. She has a way of drawing her readers in and allowing them to experience every emotion that the characters do. Every bit of fear, love, trust, mistrust. What a insane web she weaves. She has a fan for life here.  I can't wait to see what she has in store for her readers with Ash. I just know that's it's going to blow me away. Again, another series that will put my kindle to good use.

Rush (Breathless #1) by Maya Banks

Rush (Breathless #1)
by Maya Banks

Gabe has been attracted to Mia for years. He has always denied his attraction because Mia is the younger sister of one of his best friends.

Mia has no clue what she's in for from the man she has loved for so many years. She's always known Gabe would never see her as anything other than Jace's little sister. She's tried for years to get his attention, to no avail!

Little does Mia know that in or to get into Gabe's bed, a contract would need to be signed.

"There is no negotiation," he said softly. "Remember that, Mia. You read the contract. You either sign or don't sign. But if you do, you'll adhere to those terms"

Mia isn't a virgin, but she is clueless.  As she researches the contract and the lifestyle, Mia comes up with a few demands of her own.

Seriously, one of my favorite lines... "If that contract says I'm yours, then by God it's going to say you belong to me."

I love a hunky, alpha male like Gabe. Strong. Sexy. Knows exactly what he wants. And will do anything to get it, including lie to one of his best friends.

Throughout the book, Mia finds her place by Gabe's side. Gabe finds himself longing for more, thanks to being burned in the past, he's hesitant (aren't they always??). Gabe is like every other emotionally closed off man we know. Suddenly, it dawns on him. I'm not good enough for her. She can do better than someone fucked up like me. I don't want you anymore, blah blah blah. They will say or do anything to not have to address their real emotions.

I really loved this book. Gabe, Jace, Ash, Mia... there are amazing characters who are very well developed. I love seeing the growth in Mia as she goes from being a naive, young woman, into an amazing woman who is proud to "stand by her man". She puts the balls to wall on Jace and Ash and it was great to see.

Truly a great read that I will read time and time again.
